    • It is intended to obtain a photocurable fixture for orthopedic surgery for which required strength can be obtained in a short period of time with visible light. A photocurable resin containing a urethane (meth)acrylate oligomer of the following formula (I) and a photopolymerization initiator which absorbs a light of 400 to 700 nm is prepared. This photocurable resin 4 is retained in a base material 3 to form a support material 5. The inside of this support material 5 is covered with a buffer material 6 and the outside is covered with a cover material 2, to obtain a splint material 1 as a fixture for orthopedic surgery. The buffer material 6 side is put on affected parts, and a bandage is wound over it, and then molding is carried out under irradiation with visible light. As the curing proceeds, a splint is obtained and the affected parts can be fixed. (in the formula (I), A denotes a diisocyanate residue, and each of X and Y denotes a (meth)acrylate residue having a hydroxy group.)

    • A photocurable fixture for orthopedic surgery has a base material and a photocurable resin retained in the base material and containing a urethane (meth)acrylate oligomer and a photopolymerization initiator which absorbs a light within a range of 400 to 700 nm. The urethane (meth)acrylate oligomer being represented by the following formula (I), where A denotes a diisocyanate residue, and each of X and Y denotes a residue obtained by removing a hydroxy group from a (meth)acrylate having a hydroxy group. In formula (I) at least 40 mol % of X and Y is a residue obtained by removing a hydroxy group from a (meth)acrylate having a hydroxy group represented by the following formula (II), where in Formula (II) each of R1 to R6 denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.

    • A fixture for orthopedic surgery comprises a photocurable resin containing a urethane type (meth)acrylic acid derivative oligomer obtainable by a polyisocyanate having at least three isocyanate group, and a (meth)acrylic acid derivative having an active hydrogen group; and a photopolymerization initiator which absorbs light of 400 to 700 nm. The photocurable resin is retained in a base material to form a support material. The inner side of the support material is covered with a buffer material and the outer side thereof is covered with a cover material to obtain a splint material as a fixture for orthopedic surgery. The buffer material side of the splint material is put on an affected part of the body and a bandage is wound over it, and then molding is carried out using irradiation with visible light to cure the photocurable resin. As the curing proceeds, a splint is obtained for fixing and supporting the affected part.

    • A water-curable support bandage constitutes a flexible fabric coated with a water-curable polyurethane resin composition containing a polyurethane prepolymer consisting of a polyol and a polyisocyanate, a catalyst and a stabilizer, wherein the polyol contains a polyethylene glycol and a bisphenol system diol. The water-curable support bandage provides greater storage stability, working time adequate for application to a diseased or injured body part, adequate modeling time, and cures rapidly thereafter to achieve a weight bearing strength. In the polyol a polypropylene glycol can be substituted for the polyethylene glycol.

    • A novel morpholino-substituted tertiary amine compound is proposed which is tris[2-(4-morpholino)ethyl] amine or a derivative thereof by optionally substituting methyl and/or ethyl groups for a part or all of the hydrogen atoms at the 2- and 6-positions of the morpholine rings. The amine compound can be synthesized by heating tris[N,N-di(2-hydroxyethyl)aminoethyl] amine or a corresponding derivative thereof in a mixture with sulfuric acid. The amine compound is useful as a catalyst for the urethane-forming reaction between a polyisocyanate compound and a polyol compound without the problems of environmental pollution or unpleasant odor as in the use of methyl or ethyl morpholine for the same purpose.
