摘要： A compact, piezoelectrically operated pressure modulator for antiskid control of a hydraulic braking system. In its simplest form, the modulator comprises a body in which are formed a main hydraulic passage adapted to connect the master cylinder to a wheel cylinder, and a pressure relief passage for relieving the pressure in the wheel cylinder. The main passage is opened and closed by a normally open shutoff valve operated by a piezoelectric actuator, and the relief passage is controlled by a normally closed shutoff valve operated by an associated piezoelectric actuator. Adjusting mechanisms are provided to adjust the axial position of the piezoelectric elements of the actuators in such a manner that the valve clearance of the shutoff valves is adjusted to an optimal amount.

摘要： Antiskid hydraulic braking system comprising a first shutoff valve operable to shutoff hydraulic pressure from a master cylinder to wheel cylinder as the brakes tend to lock the wheels of a vehicle. Wheel cylinders are connected to a reservoir through a second shutoff valve which relieves hydraulic pressure at the wheel cylinders until the tendency toward wheel lock disappears. The system further comprises an intermittently operable high speed hydraulic pump, such as a piezoelectric pump, which serves to pump the brake fluid in the reservoir to the wheel cylinders to restore hydraulic pressure in the wheel cylinders. The piezoelectric pump comprises a pump plunger having a small diameter head defining a pumping chamber and a large diameter base defining a delivery or pressure chamber. The brake fluid under pressure in the delivery chamber acts upon the plunger base to hydraulically preload the piezoelectric elements.

摘要： A wheel cylinder and brake piston are formed in the brake caliper of each wheel of a vehicle. A piezoelectric device, which is formed of laminated piezoelectric elements, is formed in the brake caliper such that it is connected with the wheel cylinder. By applying a voltage to the piezoelectric elements the piston device is made to expand and contract to thereby vary the volume of the wheel cylinder. Brake fluid is supplied from the master cylinder to the wheel cylinder via fluid passage formed in the brake caliper and a control valve for opening and closing this passage is formed in the passage. When there is a high pressure in the wheel cylinder, the piezoelectric device expands and the control valve closes. Then, by lowering the voltage the piezoelectric device contracts and the pressure in the wheel cylinder decreases.

A flow passage representative dimension defined by S/l is within a range of approximately 0.4-2 mm where S is a cross-sectional area of the pump flow passage and l is a cross-sectional peripheral length of the outer peripheral portion of the impeller.

摘要： A fuel pump apparatus has an electric motor and a regenerative pump having a pump housing and an impeller rotated by the motor shaft journalled by a bearing to the pump housing. The impeller is operative to produce in the pump housing a fluid pressure which is unbalanced in the circumferential direction of the impeller and forms circumferentially unbalanced radially inward forces the resultant force of which is applied through the impeller to a first side of the peripheral surface of the shaft. The discharge port of the pump is open to the interior space within the motor. An opening is formed in the bearing and has an inner end faced to a second side of the peripheral surface of the motor shaft substantially diametrically opposite to the first side, whereby the discharge pressure of the pump is applied through the motor interior space and through the opening in the bearing to the second side of the motor shaft to counterbalance to the resultant force of the circumferentially unbalanced radially inward forces applied to the motor shaft.
