摘要： A closure cap particularly suited for use with containers such as milk bottles includes multiple sealing areas as well as frangible locking means. The locking means is located near the lower rim of a skirt portion of the closure cap. If the locking means has not been tampered with, an interlocking engagement between the locking means and a complementary portion of the container retains the cap on the container. If the locking means has been tampered with, the cap can be removed from the container. A visual inspection of the closure cap readily indicates whether the locking means is in tampered or untampered condition. In one embodiment, the cap can be repeatedly snapped into place on the container, and in other alternative embodiments, the cap can be repeatedly threaded onto the container. The multiple sealing areas not only seal the contents of the container, but one of the areas also prevents dust, dirt, or other contaminants from having access to the other sealing areas.

摘要： A container closure includes a cap for sealing a container against leakage, and a brush for spreading contents of the container. The cap includes a top wall, an internally threaded skirt depending from perimetrical portions of the top wall, and a stem depending from a central portion of the top wall. The brush includes a plurality of bristles having (1) mounting portions which are secured to the lower end region of the stem, and (2) applicator portions which depend below the stem for brushing the contents of the container onto a surface. The cap is a one-piece structure having its brush-supporting stem formed integrally with other parts of the cap. A method of forming the assembly includes the steps of molding the cap using a specially configured mold which has at least three relatively movable parts for defining a mold cavity and for effecting a pop-off type of ejection of the threaded cap from the mold once the integral cap and stem having been molded, whereafter the brush bristles are inserted into or otherwise secured to the cap's stem.

摘要： A childproof, push-pull container closure includes a body portion having an opening through which container contents may be discharged. A cap is secured to the body portion and is adapted for movement axially of the body portion. The cap is mounted to the body portion by means of a formation extending from the upper surface of the body portion. In one embodiment, the formation defines recesses spaced 180.degree. from each other and located near the periphery of the body portion. The cap includes a top wall having a depending skirt along the lower edge of which an annular, radially inwardly directed flange is included. When the cap is in a closed position, the recesses and the annular flange are engaged in interlocking relationship. In order to unlock the cap, the skirt is distorted by applying force to the skirt at appropriate opposed circumferential locations until the annular flange is moved from the recesses. Certain embodiments of the invention include an upstanding portion projecting from the midpoint of the ledge; an inner skirt depends from the top wall and snugly engages the upstanding portion. This construction permits movement of the cap to be constrained. In all embodiments of the invention, the cap includes a seal engageable with a sealing surface included as part of the body portion.

The brush bristles can have relatively large diameters as molded, and can be elongated after molding as by stretching to reduce their diameters and to give bristles of proper pliability.
