    • An AF auxiliary light projector for an AF camera includes a focus detection optical system having a first optical axis, and an AF auxiliary light projecting optical system having a second optical axis which intersects the first optical axis, the AF auxiliary light projecting optical system projecting an image having a predetermined contrast pattern onto an object. The AF auxiliary light projecting optical system includes a projector lens, a contrast pattern chart, an illumination lens, and an illumination light source, in that order. The illumination lens has an asymmetrical optical power so that an optical power of a far distance portion of the illumination lens for a far distance region of the contrast pattern chart is greater than an optical power of a near distance portion of the illumination lens for a near distance region of the contrast pattern chart.

The device further includes a photometry value determining system, a colorimetric compensation value determining system that determines a color of an object at each of the plurality of photometry areas and a colorimetric compensation value based on the determined color, and an exposure value determining system that compensates for the photometry value determined by the photometry value determining system for each of the plurality of photometry areas, and determines an exposure value based on the compensated photometry values. In the photometry device configured as above, the colorimetric compensation value determining system determines different colorimetric compensation values for different one of the plurality of photometry areas.

The colorimetric compensation value determining system determines different threshold values, which are used for determining colors at the plurality of photometry areas, for different photometry areas.

    • A photometry system for a camera has a finder optical system for receiving light reflected by an object and for forming an image of the object on a finder field, the image corresponding to an image that is formed on a film surface. The photometry system also includes an indicator for projecting a predetermined image onto a predetermined area of the finder field: a photometric sensor that detects a brightness of the image formed on the finder field; and a controller which inhibits the indicator from projecting the predetermined image onto the finder field when the photometric sensor is detecting a brightness of a portion of the finder field which includes the predetermined area.

The camera body includes an exposure operating device which arithmetically sets an exposure parameter based on the optimum diaphragm data which is input to the camera body through the lens information inputting device from the memory.
