    • A power transfer device for a vehicle comprises a power input part; an intermediate gear mechanism having an intermediate input gear and an intermediate output gear meshing together; a first gear meshing with the intermediate input gear; a first shaft connected to the first gear; a second output part adapted to be connected to the intermediate output gear; a second shaft connected to the second output part; a first auxiliary output part connected to the first shaft; a dog clutch adapted to be switched between a differential operation position in which the intermediate output gear is connected only to the second output part and a differential non-operation position in which the intermediate output gear is connected to both of the first auxiliary output part and the second output part; a lock gear mechanism connected to the intermediate gear mechanism; and a lock mechanism adapted to disengagably connect the lock gear mechanism to a stationary part.

    • A hydraulic clutch having an annular coned disc spring interposed between a hydraulic piston and a friction material for engaging/disengaging the clutch. An inner peripheral end of the coned disc spring is supported at a position apart from a piston on a piston sliding shaft, making the coned disc spring contact with the piston at a portion between its inner peripheral end and its outer peripheral end. The sectional shape of the coned disc spring from its piston-contacting portion to the outer peripheral end is reversed from a sectional shape thereof from the inner peripheral end to the piston-contacting portion, and this piston-contacting portion moves gradually outwardly in a radial direction at a time of clutch engagement.

    • An automatic transmission having a turbine, a pump, a first stator and a second stator and a speed changer having a planetary gear train composed of first and second planetary gears sharing one planetary carrier in common and a clutch or brake for controlling the planetary gear train. The turbine of the torque converter is coupled to a turbine shaft which transmits power from the turbine to the speed changer. A first stator is provided at a turbine side between the turbine and the pump, the first stator being coupled to a first stator shaft for transmitting power from the first stator to the speed changer a one-way clutch. A second stator is provided at a pump side between the turbine and the pump. The second stator is connected to a housing though a second stator shaft having a one-way clutch for transmitting power in a direction reverse to the rotation direction of the pump. A clutch or brake for controlling rotation speed of the first stator shaft is provided in the course of the first stator shaft. A first sun gear meshing with the first planetary gear of the speed changer is fixed to an end portion of the turbine shaft. A second sun gear meshing with the second planetary gear of the speed changer is fixed to an end portion of the first stator shaft. A brake is provided at a clutch cover side of the clutch.
