    • A socket assembly has a socket and a heat sink module detachably mounted on the socket. The socket has a base, a sliding board mounted on the base, a lid disposed upon the base and an actuator disposed between the base and the cover. The heat sink module has a fastening frame surrounding the base, a cover pivotally assembled to an end of the fastening frame and a heat sink mounted on the cover. The cover has a latching portion which latches with a top wall of the lid when the cover rotates to a closed position. The heat sink is brought by the cover to pass an open defined on the lid and to abut against an IC package seating on the sliding board.

    • An electrical connector electrically connecting an IC package to a printed circuited board comprises a base member (1), a cover member (2) moveably assembled over the base member, an actuator (3) driving the cover member to move over the base member and a plurality of terminals. The base member defines a plurality of receiving cavities (100) therethrough receiving terminals therein. The cover member defines pin mounting holes (200) corresponding to the receiving cavities of the base member. The base member comprises a head portion (13) and a main portion (14) and the cover member correspondingly comprises a side portion (23) and a leading portion (24) respectively. Latching devices, which are formed on the main portion and the leading portion of the base member and the cover member, each comprises a latching hole (5) and a hook (6) mating with the latching hole. Latching holes and hooks are formed on different ones of the base and the cover members. Each latching hole comprises an assembling portion (51) and a retaining portion (52) along a movement direction of the cover member, and a width of the assembling portion is larger than a width of the retaining portion.

    • An IC socket for testing an IC package is provided including a socket body (10), a press cover (14) preferably pivotally mounted to a first longitudinal end (101) of the socket body so as to be rotatable with respect to the socket body, and a press member (12) disposed between the socket body and the press cover to have an end thereof (121) essentially pivotally mounted to the press cover at a position adjacent the first longitudinal end of the socket body. Thus, by providing the mounting of the press member to the press cover at such a position, a latching member (141) detachably attached to the press cover will be less damaged in comparison with the conventional IC socket.
