    • A cooking range with a cooking zone plate made of glass, glass ceramics or similar materials. A frame for the cooking zone plate serves as edge protection on the one hand and as closing for the upper edge of the plate. On the other hand, the cooking zone plate is bonded with the frame on the edge side.According to the invention, the frame includes an attachment frame part and a visual frame part separated from the attachment frame part. The attachment frame is a standardized component that is connected with the lower plate edge. The visual frame serves as protection edge and upper closing. In this way a frame modular system can be put together for all applications in a simple, economical manner.

    • The invention is directed to a cooktop unit for mounting in a frame structure or in a cutout of a work surface. The cooktop unit includes a plate made of glass ceramic and this plate defines the cooking surface. The cooktop unit also includes a metal frame permanently-elastically connected by a silicone adhesive to the lower side in the peripheral region of the plate. A leg of the holding frame connected to the cooktop plate extends flush from the edge of the plate inwardly and parallel to the plate and then bends downwardly at right angles to the plate. The adhesive effects the force-tight connection or bond between the plate and the holding frame. The adhesive defines a peripheral silicone flange at the lateral edges of the plate and at the lateral edge of the leg cemented to the plate. This silicone flange terminates flush with the surface of the plate and projects beyond the lower edge of the leg connected to the plate to form a sealing lip.

The attachment device (3) has an attachment device portion forming at least a part of the releasable clamping connection device (3, 8) and the cooking apparatus upper portion has an engagement device (8) for engaging the attachment device portion when the cooking apparatus upper portion is connected with the cooking apparatus housing (2), and in a simple way the engagement device is part of the releasable clamping connection device (3, 8). In another embodiment the cooking apparatus housing has a plurality of openings for tubular guide elements which act as the clamping connection device.

    • A cooking apparatus includes at least one atmospheric gas burner and mutually adjacent first and second component assemblies. A frame holds the first and second component assemblies and the first component assembly includes a continuous glass-ceramic cook plate defining a planar surface and having a breakthrough formed therein for holding the gas burner in the cook plate. The cook plate has a boundary edge facing toward the second component assembly. The cook plate and the second component assembly conjointly define a gap therebetween at the boundary edge sufficiently wide to permit an adequate supply of primary air to pass from the ambient to below the cook plate and to the gas burner. A device is mounted in the gap for guiding the primary air into the gap. The device is attached seal-tight to at least one of the component assemblies and extends above the planar surface to prevent liquid on the planar surface from entering the frame through the gap.

    • Modern cooking ranges have a glass-ceramic panel (1) providing a cooking surface with at least one cooking zone, which typically is associated with a radiating heated body. To indicate the cooking zone and, if necessary, the residual heat, it is known to associate an externally lighted annular glass with the heated body, which is observable from above as a lighted ring. A structured lighted cooking zone indicating device is provided according to the present invention by a structured light-impermeable coating layer (2) applied directly to the underside of the glass-ceramic panel (1) having transparent regions forming a predetermined or desired structure or pattern within the cooking zone indicating device. This cooking zone indicating device is made by a screen printing technique in which a heat-resistant light-impermeable varnish is applied to the underside of the glass-ceramic panel to form the structured coating layer (2).
