    • The invention relates to a piston pump for a slip-controlled, hydraulic vehicle brake system. In order to be able to simply and inexpensively produce the piston pump as a stepped piston pump, the invention embodies a piston as a tubular deep drawn part made of sheet metal, with an outwardly protruding circumferential bead. The bead is produced by axially compressing the piston. The bead constitutes an axial support for a guide ring and sealing ring placed onto the piston. A disk-shaped, abrasion resistant striking piece is press-fitted into an open end of the tubular piston, and is used by the piston for resting against a circumference of a cam element used for the stroke drive.

    • An electromagnetically actuated valve has a sleeve which receives magnetically operative elements, such as an armature and a magnet core. The sleeve is provided with a radially outward-oriented, encompassing widened portion in the form of a flange having flat wall portions which extend transversely to the longitudinal axis of the valve and rest on one another essentially without an interstice between them. The flange is braced on a shoulder of a valve block bore and is hydraulically tightly gripped by material positively displaced from the bore circumference. The flange is the sole securing means for the fluid-carrying part of the valve, which part comprises the sleeve, armature and magnet core.

    • For drying organic solid materials, such as brown coals, the solid materials are, particularly for the purpose of immediately subsequent briquetting or refinement or gasification, respectively, preheated and introduced into an atmosphere of saturated steam at super-atmospheric pressure and increased temperature. After such a first drying stage (1, 2) operated with saturated steam, the process water formed in this drying stage is separated and the solid materials are at least partially pressure-released and subsequently further dried within an atmosphere of superheated steam at a temperature of at least 200.degree. C. of this steam atmosphere. The steam of this further drying stage (7) is passed along a closed circuit via heat exchangers (10, 11) and brought to or maintained at the required temperature. A portion of the steam passed along a closed circuit, that portion approximately corresponding to the amount of steam having its origin in the water content of the solid materials, is tapped via conduit (12) and used for preheating purposes (FIG. 1).

    • Coating formulations having improved adhesion are described which are especially suitable as primer for top coats of fluorocarbon polymers, which comprise (a) a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene units, units of a perfluoroalkylvinyl ether and optionally units of hexafluoropropylene or vinylidene fluoride, (b) optionally dispersed polytetrafluoroethylene particles in addition, (c) a mixture of lithium hydroxide and suspended fine-particle pyrogenic SiO.sub.2, and (d) water as liquid carrier. The coating formulations are applied according to known methods to substrates such as metals, glass or ceramic surfaces. They may be used as single-layer systems without top coat, or as primer, the top coat being applicable immediately after a short-time drying only. Application fields are the coating of household equipment or technical apparatus, where a high-grade adhesion onto the substrate, combined with anti-adhesive properties and a smooth surface are obtained.
