    • There is provided a system for a signal transfer between a VSB broadcast reception chip and an enhanced data processing chip in an E8-VSB reception system compatible with an ATSC VSB reception system of a related art. The system includes a VSB receiver and an E8-VSB data processor. The VSB receiver converts a received broadcast signal of a predetermined channel into a digital baseband signal having a period of a first symbol clock, performs a channel equalizing, a noise removal, and an error correction, and outputs error-corrected data and a synchronization signal with an N times faster speed than the first symbol clock. The E8-VSB data processor receives the first symbol clock and a second symbol clock N times faster than the first symbol clock from the VSB receiver, extracts only enhanced data from the data depending on a synchronization signal outputted in synchronization with the second symbol clock, and performs an E8-VSB decoding and error correction.

    • Disclosed is an adjuvant for use in simultaneous polishing of a cationically charged material and an anionically charged material, which forms an adsorption layer on the cationically charged material in order to increase polishing selectivity of the anionically charged material, wherein the adjuvant comprises a polyelectrolyte salt containing: (a) a mixture of a linear polyelectrolyte having a weight average molecular weight of 2,000˜50,000 with a graft type polyelectrolyte that has a weight average molecular weight of 1,000˜20,000 and comprises a backbone and a side chain; and (b) a basic material. CMP (chemical mechanical polishing) slurry comprising the above adjuvant and abrasive particles is also disclosed. The adjuvant comprising a mixture of a linear polyelectrolyte with a graft type polyelectrolyte makes it possible to increase polishing selectivity as compared to CMP slurry using the linear polyelectrolyte alone, and to obtain a desired range of polishing selectivity by controlling the ratio of the linear polyelectrolyte to the graft type polyelectrolyte.

    • A digital television (DTV) transmitter and a method of coding data in the DTV transmitter method are disclosed. A pre-processes enhanced data by coding the enhanced data for forward error correction (FEC) and expanding the FEC-coded enhanced data. A data formatter generates enhanced data packets including the pre-processed enhanced data and inserting known data to at least one of the enhanced data packets. A first multiplexer multiplexes main data packets with the enhanced data packets, and a data randomizer randomizes the multiplexed data packets. A Reed-Solomon (RS) encoder RS-codes the randomized data packets by adding first parity data, and a data interleaver interleaves the RS-coded data packets. A trellis encoder trellis-encodes the interleaved data packets, wherein the trellis encoder may be initialized when a known data sequence is inputted thereto.
