    • System and process for producing different embodiments of sprinkler assemblies uses two different first housing assemblies, from which one first housing assembly is selected for producing a desired sprinkler assembly embodiment. Each first housing assembly is replaceable with the other and includes an inlet end and a spaced outlet end; the inlet end of each first housing assembly is configured for connection with a source of water under pressure. Each first housing assembly also includes an adjustable flow control mechanism to control the flow of water under pressure through the first housing assembly. The control mechanism may include a manually-actuated moveable valve structure to control water flow rate, or a timing mechanism to select a duration for the water flow. By providing a first housing assembly with a control mechanism that is different from that of the other first housing assembly, the sprinkler assembly embodiment produced will depend upon the first housing assembly that is selected. A second housing assembly having an oscillating mechanism also is provided, and a sprinkler head assembly is connected to the oscillating mechanism. The first housing assembly, the second housing assembly, and the sprinkler head assembly are supported by a base assembly on the area to be sprinkled. Additional features, such as adjusting rings and spray width control members, also may be provided.

    • A wave sprinkler assembly in which the tubular spray assembly comprises a tubular member and one or more elongated strips of flexible material having a series of longitudinally spaced water stream outlets extending therethrough, the strips are assembled with the tubular member by inserting them therein through an end and moving them radially outwardly into an operative position wherein the water under pressure within the interior of the tubular spray assembly acts on the strips to enhance their engagement with the tubular member. The strip provides an annular seal of flexible sealing material extending around the exterior of each of the controllable water stream outlets, and a control member is mounted on the elongated tubular assembly for movement between a full width operating position and a width limiting position. The control member includes a control section associated with each annular seal and the controllable water stream outlet around which it extends. Each control section has a surface area movable into engagement with the associated annular seal to prevent a water stream from issuing from the controllable water stream outlet around which it extends and an open area movable over the controllable water stream outlet around which the associated annular seal extends to allow a water stream to issue therefrom.

    • A pop-up sprinkler assembly for installation within the ground and for manual connection from a position above ground with an above ground hose as a source of water pressure. The pop-up sprinkler assembly includes a housing structure having an annular opening and exterior suitable for installation within the ground in a fixed operative position. The housing structure has a inlet passageway communicating with the annular opening. A hose connector is in the passageway for connection to an above ground hose. A sprinkler head is mounted in the annular space that is generally at ground level when the sprinkler head is in a lower storage position. An annular seal is provided between the sprinkler head and the housing structure so that the communication of water pressure with the annular space results in water pressure-biased movement of the sprinkler head from the lower storage position to a raised operative position. The sprinkler has an outlet for directing water under pressure outwardly thereof onto the ground in a predetermined pattern.

    • A truss assembly (10) for supporting lights (30) is described. The assembly includes a truss frame (12) with individual units (16) within which is mounted electric lights. The truss frame has end plates (34) at each end (12B) and rotatable plates (52) mounted onto each end plate by bushings (58) which are fixably mounted within the rotatable plates. Locking assemblies (64) extend through the rotating plates and into indexing holes (50) in the end plates. Support receivers (70) are attached to the rotatable plates and mount on top of support stands (74) in order to keep the truss assembly in an elevated position. In a second embodiment, the truss frames are joined together to form a longer truss assembly. Several truss assemblies are connected together by forked support stands 78 at the corners to create a truss system 80 which encloses an arena 86. The fixed bushings within the rotatable plates enable the truss frame with the electric lights to be rotated into various positions. The locking assemblies act to keep the frame in a rotated position determined by the specific placement of the indexing holes through which the locking assemblies are inserted.

An actuating member is provided having a thumb-engaging portion extending in the actuating position for effecting pivotal movements of the actuating member about the pivotal axis of the ball valve by thumb engagement. The mounting of the ball valve and the actuating member is such that (1) the actuating member is retained in any position of pivotal movement into which it is moved by thumb engagement and (2) the ball valve is retained in a corresponding position for determining the variable flow rate of water under pressure through the valve seat.
