摘要： An optical module shown in FIG. 2 is disclosed having following components. (1) A substrate on which optical parts and an optical fiber are mounted. An optical fiber is fixed in the V-groove formed on the substrate so that the optic axis of the optical parts and the fiber is adjusted. (2) A bottom plastic package having a concave surface for the substrate mounted thereon and several leads pins being fixed to the first plastic package. (3) A upper plastic package for sealing optical parts and the fiber being fixed to the bottom plastic package, the outer surface of the upper plastic package being plated by metal, and the upper plastic package and at least one of the lead pins conducted. According to this, it is possible to provide optical transmission module or optical module having advantage of capable of using plastic package and electromagnetic interference free with simplified structure.

摘要： An optical module for an optical device and an optical fiber is constituted by a pre-molded plastic package. In forming the plastic package, the main flowing direction of the molding resin is substantially parallel with the optical axis of the optical fiber. The optical module is formed by molding the resin by an injection method using pressure and then solidifying the resin. When the plastic package is formed by comprehensive molding, the flowing direction of the resin is parallel with the optical axis direction of the optical fiber to be installed in the optical module. As a result, for comprehensive molding, the molding pressure applied to the optical fiber is reduced. By using the resin case that is formed, the resulting package exhibits high rigidity and low thermal expansion properties in connection with the flowing direction of the resin, thus reducing the external stress and thermal stress applied to the optical fiber.

摘要： An optical fiber is held in a ferrule, and then the ferrule is located in a positioning groove formed in a substrate, thereby aligning the optical fiber with an optical device bonded to a surface of the substrate. Then, a lid is placed on the substrate in such a manner that the ferrule is located in a positioning groove formed in the lid and that the optical device is received in a cavity formed in the lid. The ferrule is thus held between the two grooves, and in this condition a resin is filled in the two grooves, thereby retaining the ferrule. Then, the lid is sealingly secured to the substrate. After these parts are thus assembled together, this assembly is put in dies, and then a package is molded.

The pieces of working information on the workloads are estimated, and allocation of tentative workloads is deduced for fear the pieces of working information may exceed the performances of a group of information processing devices. Tentative power consumptions and arrangement information resulting from the allocation of the tentative workloads, and tentative power consumptions and arrangement information necessary for the allocation of the tentative workloads are calculated. Tentative cooling powers required to control the cooling facilities are calculated. Allocation of the tentative workloads minimizing the sum total of the tentative power consumptions of the information processing devices and the tentative cooling powers of the cooling facilities is searched. Based on the searched allocation, the workloads are allocated to the information processing devices.

The information-processing system includes information-processing devices, power supply facilities, cooling facilities and an operations management device. The operations management device is connected to the devices and the facilities and includes layout information constituted of locations and operating information of the devices and locations and environmental information of the facilities. Also, the operations management device obtains the power consumption of the devices, the power supply loss of the power supply facilities and the cooling power of the cooling facilities by using the layout information, and then allocates the workloads to the devices so as to reduce the total sum of power consumption, supply loss and cooling power.
