    • The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of substantially linear isocyanate polyaddition products having side-chain hydroxyl groups by the reaction of reactive systems which contain free isocyanate groups and oxazolidine groups with water, characterized in that(a) substantially linear prepolymers which contain both isocyanate groups and oxazolidine groups in end positions or(b) a mixture containing substantially linear isocyanate prepolymers and bis-oxazolidinesare chain lengthened by mixing with water, using a quantity of water calculated to provide at least about 1 mol of water per mol of oxazolidine groups present in the reaction mixture. The present invention also relates in particular to an embodiment of this process in which the prepolymers used contain chemically built-in hydrophilic groups and/or external emulsifiers, and water is used in such excess that the reaction leads directly to aqueous dispersions or solutions of the polyaddition products. Lastly, the present invention also relates to isocyanate polyaddition products obtainable by the process according to the invention.

    • The present invention therefore relates to a process for the preparation of aqueous solutions or dispersions of polyurethane-polyureas by the reaction in the aqueous phase of prepolymers which contain chemically built-in hydrophilic groups and/or external emulsifiers which are not bound chemically as well as at least two free isocyanate groups with organic compounds containing at least two primary and/or secondary amino groups, characterized in that the isocyanate prepolymer which has been hydrophilically modified and/or contains an external emulsifier is mixed, in the absence of water, with compounds containing at the most one free primary or secondary amino group and at least one blocked group which releases a free primary or secondary amino group in the presence of water and a total of at least two at least partially blocked primary and/or secondary amino groups, and the mixture is subsequently mixed with water.The invention also relates to the dispersions or solutions obtained by this process and to their use for coating flexible and rigid substrates.

    • This invention relates to coating compositions based on aqueous polyurethane dispersions, as well as the use of the coating compositions for the production of top coats or finishes on flexible substrates, particularly on PVC. The present coating agents contain an aqueous polyurethane dispersion having certain physico-chemical properties and the following composition of the solid substance:(A) from about 30 to 60%, by weight, of a hexane diol-1,6-polyester diol having a molecular weight of from about 500 to 6000;(B) up to about 8%, by weight, of a relatively low molecular weight triol having a molecular weight of from about 91 to 399;(C) from about 3 to 30%, by weight, of one or more mono- or poly-functional compounds bearing cationic and/or anionic groups and/or containing non-ionic polyoxyethylene segments;(D) from about 20 to 50%, by weight, of a diisocyanate corresponding to the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, which may be the same or different, each represents hydrogen or a straight- or branched-chain aliphatic hydrocarbon radical containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms;(E) from about 2.5 to 20%, by weight, of other aliphatic and/or cycloaliphatic diisocyanates; and(F) from about 0.5 to 4%, by weight, of hydrazine; and optionally conventional additives, auxiliaries and catalysts.
