    • The present invention provides a resin composition for a solar cell package and a resin composition for a wet solar cell package which are excellent in transparency, moisture resistance, weather resistance and chemical resistance and are suitable as a material of a package for a solar cell, and a package for a wet solar cell and a transparent substrate for a wet solar cell which are obtained by molding the resin composition. The resin composition for a solar cell package of the present invention contains a cyclic olefin polymer having one kind or two or more kinds of structures represented by the following general formula (1) (provided that, in the formula, x and y represent the copolymerization ratio and are a real number satisfying 0/100≦y/x≦95/5. n is the number of substitution of a substituent Q and an integer of 0≦n≦2. R1 is a 2+n valent group selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon groups having 2 to 20 carbon atoms. R2 is a hydrogen atom, or a monovalent group selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon groups having 1 to 10 carbon atoms containing carbon and hydrogen atoms. R3 is a tetravalent group selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon groups having 2 to 10 carbon atoms. Q is COOR4 (R4 is a hydrogen atom, or a monovalent group selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon groups having 1 to 10 carbon atoms containing carbon and hydrogen atoms)).

    • A cyclic olefin resin composition which can be suitably used as a material for a substrate having low permittivity, low dielectric tangent, low water absorbability, excellent heat resistance, and the like, and a substrate obtained from the resin composition are provided. In particular, there is provided a novel cyclic olefin resin composition that can be suitably used as a material for a substrate for high frequency circuit dealing with high frequency signal transmission. The cyclic olefin resin composition comprises (A) 5 to 95 parts by weight of a cyclic olefin polymer having a glass transition temperature of 60 to 200° C. and (B) 5 to 95 parts by weight of a flexible copolymer, prepared by polymerizing at least two monomers selected from the group consisting of an olefin compound, a diene compound and an aromatic vinyl hydrocarbon compound, and having a glass transition temperature of 0° C. or below. The cyclic olefin resin composition further comprises, based on 100 parts by weight of total amount of the components (A) and (B), (D) 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of a radical initiator and (E) 0 to 5 parts by weight of a polyfunctional compound having in its molecule two or more radically polymerizable functional groups.

    • This invention relates to a perfectly or partially crosslinked olefinic thermoplastic elastomer composition which comprises 10 to 90 parts by weight of a crystalline polyolefin (a), 90 to 10 parts by weight of an olefin-based copolymer rubber (b) (the total amount of the components (a) and (b) being 100 parts by weight) and 3 to 100 parts by weight of a paraffinic mineral oil softening agent (c) having an evaporation loss of 0.4% by weight or less at a condition of 200° C., atmospheric pressure and 1 hour and having a kinetic viscosity (40° C.) of 50 to 250 cSt; an olefinic thermoplastic elastomer composition which is obtainable by subjecting a mixture including 40 to 85 parts by weight of an ethylene-based copolymer rubber (A), 60 to 15 parts by weight of an olefinic resin (B) and 45 parts by weight or less of a softening agent (C) [the total amount of the components (A), (B) and (C) being 100 parts by weight] to dynamic heat treatment in the presence of a crossliking agent and which has a gloss value of 80% or more and a haze value of 10% or less on glass plate when subjected to the fogging test at a condition of 100° C. and 3 hours according to the prescription of A method of DIN 75201; and a manufacturing method and use of the compositions.

    • Disclosed is a foamable olefin thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising (A) a partially crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer composition, (B) long-chain branch-containing polypropylene and (C) a foaming agent. The partially crosslinked thermoplastic elastomer composition (A) is obtained by dynamically heat-treating a mixture in the presence of organic peroxide, said mixture comprising specific proportions of a peroxide-crosslinking type olefin copolymer rubber (a), which is an ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer rubber composed of ethylene, an .alpha.-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms and optionally a nonconjugated diene, and a peroxide-decomposition type olefin plastic (b), which is an .alpha.-olefin (co)polymer containing a specific amount of an .alpha.-olefin of 3 to 20 carbon atoms and having a specific MFR. Also disclosed is a foamed product obtained by heating the foamable olefin thermoplastic elastomer composition. From the foamable olefin thermoplastic elastomer composition, a foamed product having an expansion ratio of at least 2 times, being free from surface roughening caused by defoaming, being soft to the touch and showing excellent heat resistance and weathering resistance can be produced with high productivity through simplified steps.
