    • Scroll compressors (1) may include a housing (2, 3) having an inlet port (3a) and an outlet port (3b). A drive scroll (10) may be rotatably disposed within the housing and may have a rotational axis. A driven scroll (20) may be rotatably disposed within the housing and may have a rotational axis. The driven scroll rotational axis preferably is offset to the drive scroll rotational axis. Further, at least one compression chamber (30) is preferably defined between the drive scroll and the driven scroll. A first bearing (14) may rotatably support the drive scroll in a cantilever manner and a second bearing (24, 115) may rotatably support the driven scroll in a cantilever manner. A transmission (31, 131, 231 and 331) or other device may be provided to rotate the drive scroll in synchronism with the driven scroll.

    • A control valve includes an accommodation cylinder, a coil, a stator, a plunger, and a valve body. Electromagnetic force is generated between the stator and the plunger and the plunger moves relative to the stator. The valve body adjusts the opening degree of a valve hole. A flat surface and a peripheral wall are formed in an end of the stator. The peripheral wall has a tapered cross-section with an inclined inner surface. The inclined inner surface and the flat surface define a recess. The plunger has a frustum portion. The frustum portion includes a flat distal surface and an annular inclined surface. The taper angle of the peripheral wall is equal to or less than twenty degrees. The diameter of the flat distal surface of the frustum portion is equal to or greater than eighty percent of the largest diameter of the annular inclined surface.

    • Disclosed is a stator for an electric machine. The stator is provided with a stator core, and first and second series of coils each formed into a predetermined shape. Each of the coils in the first series is provided with a pair of first coil ends which respectively protrude from both end faces of the stator core. Each of the first coil ends is provided with a pair of bent portions which extend outward in the radial direction of the stator, and a bridge portion which connects the bent portions. Each second coil end is provided with a pair of upright portions and a bridge portion which connects the upright portions. The bridge portions of the coils in the first series are disposed outside the bridge portions of the coils in the second series in the radial direction of the stator. The bridge portion of each of the coils in the second series extends across the bent portions of two adjacent coils in the first series. The coils in the first series and the coils in the second series are configured so that each series includes a mixture of coils of at least two phases among a U-phase, a V-phase, and a W-phase. Each of the coils in the first series is connected to a coil of the same phase in the second series.
