摘要： A method and system for providing intelligent network control services in IP telephony, wherein the system includes a location manager and an IP telephony proxy server. The location manager includes an interface to a legacy telephony service control entity and the IP telephony proxy server includes an IP interface to the location manager. If the IP telephony proxy server requires intelligent network services, then the IP telephony proxy server sends an IP telephony session initiation request to the called party at the location manager. The location manager uses the information to query the legacy telephony service control entity for routing information. When the location manager receives a routing response from the service control entity, the location manager maps the response to an IP telephony session control message back to the IP telephony proxy server.

摘要： An illustrative intelligent network and method for providing voice telephony over ATM and alias addressing are provided that can provide significant advantages. The intelligent network includes a multi-service control point, an ATM signaling intercept processor, and a service administration. The multi-service control point receives an input extracted from an input ATM setup message that includes a called party phone number value and a VToA designator, and generates an alias ATM address of a called party CPE that corresponds to a network gateway in communication with a PSTN switch through a plurality of trunk lines and a desired trunk line of the plurality of trunk lines. The multi-service control point generates an output in response that will be used to generate an output ATM setup message that includes the alias ATM address. The ATM signaling intercept processor intercepts the input ATM setup message from an ingress ATM edge switch of the ATM network, extracts the input from the input ATM setup message, communicates the input to the multi-service control point, receives the output generated by the multi-service control point, generates the output ATM setup message using the output, and communicates the output ATM setup message to the ingress ATM edge switch of the ATM network. The service administration provisions the multi-service control point and the ATM signaling intercept processor. An illustrative method for providing VToA and alias addressing is also provided.

摘要： The method and apparatus for completing calls to mobile stations in a mobile radio communications network provides efficient routing of calls, reduced utilization of system resources, and consistent services to a mobile station wherever located. The invention includes a national home location register (HLR) with a wireless enhanced services platform (WESP) with integrated voice mail/audio response capability. Calls to and from mobile subscribers are delivered to the WESP. The WESP interacts with the national HLR to provide consistent mobile services as well as enhanced services such as information collection and validation prior to call completion. When a call to a mobile station is placed, the call is directed to the WESP which transmits the identity of the mobile station to the national HLR. The national HLR looks up the mobile station and obtains the identity of the serving mobile switching center/visitor location register (MSC/VLR) where the mobile station is actually located and a list of the features in effect for the mobile station. The list of features in effect is transmitted to the WESP which performs the functions necessary to implement the features. These functions include validation in conjunction with the national HLR if any features in effect require validation. The national HLR also sends a request for routing information to the serving MSC/VLR. The serving MSC/VLR returns a geographic routing number known as the temporary local directory number (TLDN). The call is then completed to the serving MSC/IVLR.

摘要： An illustrative intelligent network and method for providing voice telephony over Asynchronous Transfer Mode (“ATM”) and private address translation are provided that can provide significant advantages. The method includes generating an input ATM setup message at the calling party CPE that includes a VToA designator and a called party phone number, extracting information from the input ATM setup message such as the VToA designator and the called party phone number, analyzing the information, designating an ATM address of a called party CPE to be stored in the first parameter of an output ATM setup message, determining if private address translation is needed, designating the ATM address of the called party CPE to be stored in a first instance of the second parameter of the output ATM setup message, designating an ATM address of an egress ATM edge switch to be stored in the first parameter of the output ATM setup message, and generating an output ATM setup message. The method also includes extracting information from the output ATM setup message such as the ATM address of the called party CPE, designating the ATM address of the called party CPE that was stored in the first instance of the second parameter of the output ATM setup message to be stored in the first parameter of a destination ATM setup message, and generating a destination ATM setup message that includes the ATM address of the called party CPE stored in the first parameter and the called party phone number value stored in the second parameter. An illustrative intelligent network for providing VToA and private address translation is also provided.

A network server receives multiple early media streams associated with a communication session between an originating network element and one or more terminating network elements. The network server selectively suppresses the early media streams, such that the originating network element receives a single signaling message indicating status information of the communication session (or call). The present invention has particular applicability to SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) IP (Internet Protocol) telephony services.
