摘要： A telephone capable of operation in a cordless or corded mode. The telephone is basically operative in the cordless mode through the provision of electronic transmitting and receiving elements individual to the base unit and the portable handset. The base unit and the handset are provided with conversion switching circuits coupled to be responsive to the connection of a multi-conductor cord between the base unit and the handset to convert the telephone to corded operation. The conversion circuits disable the transmitting and receiving circuits in both the base and handset and permit the telephone signals to be conductively transmitted between the units through the conductors of the cord.

摘要： A monitoring and locating device includes one or more remote child units and a parent unit in communication with each of the child units. The parent unit is adapted to assign and transmit an individual identifier to each child unit. The parent unit is constructed and arranged to continuously monitor each of the child units by transmitting and receiving signals to each of the child units using the individual identifiers assigned thereto. The monitoring and locating device may be used in a method for monitoring and tracking a living entity that includes acquiring the plurality of child units using the parent unit based at least in part on user input. Monitoring each of the plurality of child units individually with the parent unit. Tracking the location of each child unit with the parent unit and locating a selected child unit of the plurality of child units with the parent unit based upon the tracked location thereof.

摘要： A security system which includes a master unit for communication with a central control station by telephone and provides for a plurality of remote detectors located in different zones of a secured area to be selectively wired. The remote detectors communicate through the main power supply with a master unit which is powered by the mains. Microphones in the remote detectors can be selectively operated through the master unit as activated by the central control station to listen in to different zones to permit for identification of a security breach in different zones. A high-volume output mode speaker phone is provided to the master unit. Feedback circuitry generates audible signals when the system is armed or disarmed remotely. Separate activation of interior and perimeter detectors can be effected.
