摘要： A soilless garden includes a chamber including a sealed lower portion for storing liquid nutrient solution, and an upper portion including a support structure; soilless growth medium supported by the support structure and adapted to support at least one plant having roots; a removable germination cap located above the soilless growth medium; a conduit having a first end located substantially adjacent to the soilless growth medium, and a second end opposite to the first end; and a pump in the chamber, including an input for receiving the liquid nutrient solution from the lower portion of the chamber, and an output to deliver liquid nutrient solution through the conduit into the soilless growth medium. The support structure includes an opening directed toward the lower portion of the chamber for the liquid nutrient solution to drip from the roots of the at least one plant into the lower portion of the chamber.

An apparatus of this invention includes a vessel, a growing surface, a light source, a liquid measurement device, a controller in communication with the measurement device and a time that calculate the rate of consumption of the liquid in the vessel by seeds or plants and that adjust the liquid delivery rate, the liquid quality, the nutrient delivery rate, the nutrient quality, the photoradiation delivery rate, and/or the photoradiation quality based on the calculated rate of liquid usage. In an embodiment, the steps are performed automatically without human intervention.

摘要： A small, portable, hand-held electronic personal organizer performs voice recognition on words spoken by a user to input data into the organizer and records voice messages from the user. The spoken words and the voice messages are input via a microphone. The voice messages are compressed before being converted into digital signals for storage. The stored digital voice messages are reconverted into analog signals and then expanded for reproduction using a speaker. The organizer is capable of a number of a different functions, including voice training, memo record, reminder, manual reminder, timer setting, message review, waiting message, calendar, phone group select, number retrieval, add phone number, security, and "no" logic. During such various functions, data is principally entered by voice and occasionally through use of a limited keypad, and voice recordings are made and played back as appropriate. A visual display provides feedback to the user. During the various function, the user can edit various different data within the organizer by eliminating or correcting such data or entering new data.

摘要： A security system which includes a master unit for communication with a central control station by telephone and provides for a plurality of remote detectors located in different zones of a secured area to be selectively wired. The remote detectors communicate through the main power supply with a master unit which is powered by the mains. Microphones in the remote detectors can be selectively operated through the master unit as activated by the central control station to listen in to different zones to permit for identification of a security breach in different zones. A high-volume output mode speaker phone is provided to the master unit. Feedback circuitry generates audible signals when the system is armed or disarmed remotely. Separate activation of interior and perimeter detectors can be effected.
