摘要： Described is a method for reading an array of sensors having a set of row conductors each connected to the sensors in a corresponding row of the array and a set of column conductors each connected to the sensors in a corresponding column of the array such that each sensor is connected between a row conductor and a column conductor. The method comprises: for each row of sensors in the array, performing a read cycle comprising applying an activation pulse to the corresponding row conductor to activate the sensors in the row, applying a reading pulse to the row conductor on expiry of a predetermined time interval from an edge of the activation pulse, and during the reading pulse, detecting, for each sensor in the row, a value dependent on a variable characteristic of that sensor. The read cycle for at least one row is commenced during the predetermined time interval of the read cycle for another row. In a preferred example described in detail, the sensors are thermal resistance sensors, the activation pulse is a heating pulse to heat the sensors, and the variable characteristic is resistance.

摘要： A storage device and a method for scanning a storage medium. A storage medium for storing data in the form of marks is scanned by an array of probes for mark detecting purposes in a scanning mode. The storage medium has fields with each field to be scanned by an associated one of the probes. At least one of the fields has marks representing operational data for operating the scanning mode. Scanning parameters are computed from the operational data and the scanning mode is adjusted according to the computed parameters.

摘要： The present invention concerns mechanical signal processing comprising a mechanical adder as a basic building block. Such a mechanical adder (40), which is a basic element of the present invention, comprises a first micromechanical member (40.1) being sensitive to a first frequency (f.sub.1) and a second micromechanical member (40.2) being sensitive to a second frequency (f.sub.2). The two micromechanical members (40.1, 40.2) are coupled via a linear coupling (41) to provide a superposition (sum) of the two frequencies (f.sub.1 and f.sub.2).
