The container further has square feet on one end thererof for endwise standing of the video storage container. The container also has a recessed front for easy opening where the recessed front is also arcuate or scalloped so as to extend inward into the container to assist in holding and centering video cassette tape. The container also has ribs on the inner surface thereof which automatically centers the video cassette and its associated literature into the storage container during manual insertion of a cassette therein.

摘要： A container for storing and displaying recorded media, such as compact discs, video cassettes, audio cassettes, etc., has a support surface, preferably rotatably mounted. A plurality of spaced ribs are formed on the support surface and extend upwardly therefrom, forming individual storage slots for receiving storage boxes containing the recorded media. A small area of serrated teeth is formed on the support surface adjacent a front end opening of each of the slots. The serrated teeth engage a side of the storage box and retard the outward sliding movement of the box as the container is rotated for review of the various recorded media stored therein.

摘要： A container for shipping and storing an article such as a video cassette has a base formed by a pair of spaced end walls, and a pair of spaced side walls. Integrally molded to the base is a lid having at least one destructible locking tang formed thereon which passes through an aperture formed in one of the side walls of the base. When the locking tang is inserted through the aperture, a shoulder on the tang engages the base wall and may only be disengaged from the wall by destructibly removing the locking tang from the lid. A tear groove preferably is formed in a hinge portion of the tang to facilitate removal of the tang from the lid. Also, provided on the lid and base are a plurality of projections to provide at least one snap-fit engagement between the lid and the base to latch the lid and the base together once the locking tang has been removed. A plurality of shock absorbing tabs are formed in the storage compartment to space the video cassette from the walls to reduce damage thereto during shipment.

A housing forms a storage compartment having an access opening for receiving and retaining therein a plastic storage box containing a compact disc. A slide plate is mounted on the housing and is slidably moved across the access opening between locked and unlocked positions to retain the box within the storage compartment. The slide plate has locking projections which engage locking tabs on the housing to maintain the slide plate in locked position until released by a manually operated key. A pair of orienting tabs are formed on the slide plate and move through openings formed in a rear wall of the storage compartment and into offset openings formed in the compact disc storage box when the slide plate is moved to the locked position to ensure that the storage box is oriented in the desired position in the storage compartment for viewing of graphics cards contained thereon.

摘要： A reusable plastic package for securely holding and displaying a rectangular article such as a compact disc. This reusable plastic package includes a housing having a rectangular-shaped storage compartment for selectively storing an article in the compartment. The storage compartment has an access opening for inserting and removing the article into and out of the compartment. An adjacent smaller compartment functions as a lock compartment whereby a slide plate is slidably mounted thereon and selectively movable across a portion of the access opening of the storage compartment for releasably securing the article in the storage compartment. Deflectable locking levers are formed within the lock compartment and engage with mating projections formed on the slide plate when the slide plate is in the locked position for securing the article within the package due to a portion of the slide plate blocking the access opening. A key which is insertable through openings formed in the end wall of the lock compartment disengages the locking levers from the projections to enable the slide plate to be moved to the unlocked position. The locking levers and projections are spaced apart in groups in the locking compartment and on the slide plate to provide space for an electronic article surveillance tag. Cutouts are formed in a back wall of the storage compartment and mate with complementary shaped retaining flanges and locking tabs of an adjacent package to permit nesting of the adjacent packages.
