    • This invention relates to bis(dichloroorganosilyl)alkenes represented by the formula III and a process for the preparation of the compounds of formula III which comprises hydrosilylating bis(dichlorosilyl)methanes of formula I with organoolefins or organosilylolefins of formula II in the presence of chloroplatinic acid catalyst; ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are same or different and can be --(CH.sub.2).sub.2 R.sup.3 (wherein R.sup.3 represents Ph, --CH.sub.2 Cl, --(CH.sub.2).sub.y CH.sub.3 (y=0-15), --CF.sub.3, --CH.sub.2 CF.sub.3, --SiMe.sub.m Cl.sub.3-m (m=0-3), --CN, --CH.sub.2 CN, --(p-Ph)CH.sub.2 Cl or 3-cyclohexenyl group) or (X--Ph)CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2 -- (wherein X represents hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, phenyl, fluoro, chloro or bromo group); or R.sup.1 is --CH.sub.3 or --(CH.sub.2).sub.2 R.sup.3 (wherein R.sup.3 is same as defined above) and R.sup.2 is (X--Ph)CH(CH.sub.3)CH.sub.2 -- (wherein X is same as defined above); A is --(CH.sub.2).sub.n -- (n=1, 2, 3, 6, 8), or --(CH.sub.2).sub.2 Ph(CH.sub.2).sub.2 --; Q represents --SiHCl.sub.2 or ##STR2## X represents hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, phenyl, fluoro, chloro or bromo group; P can be R.sup.3, --CH.sub.2 -- SiCl.sub.2 --(CH.sub.2).sub.2 --R.sup.3, --B--SiCl.sub.2 CH.sub.3, or D--CH.dbd.CH.sub.2, wherein R.sup.3 is Ph, --CH.sub.2 Cl, --(CH.sub.2).sub.y CH.sub.3 (y=0-15), --CF.sub.3, --CH.sub.2 CF.sub.3, --SiMe.sub.m Cl.sub.3-m (m=0-3), --CN, --CH.sub.2 CN, --(p-Ph)--CH.sub.2 Cl or 3-cyclohexenyl group (B can be --(CH.sub.2).sub.n --(wherin n=4 or 6) or --Ph(CH.sub.2).sub.2 -- and D can be --(CH.sub.2).sub.2 -- or --Ph--).

    • The present invention relates to bis(silylpropyl)arenes represented by the formula I and their preparation methods by reacting aromatic compounds represented by the formula II or III with allylchlorosilanes represented by the formula IV in the presence of Lewis acid catalysts such as aluminum chloride: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 which may be the same or different represent hydrogen, chloro or --(CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2)--R.sup.3 (wherein R.sup.3 is Ph, CH.sub.2 Cl, C.sub.n H.sub.2n CH.sub.3 (n=0-15), CF.sub.3, CH.sub.2 CF.sub.3, Si(Me).sub.m Cl.sub.3-m (m=0-3), CN, CH.sub.2 CN, (p--Ph)--CH.sub.2 Cl or 3-cyclohexenyl group); Ar represents phenyl ring, phenoxyphenyl ring, or biphenyl ring; X.sup.1 represents hydrogen or methyl; and X.sup.2 represents hydrogen, alkyl(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4), fluoro, chloro, bromo, phenyl or phenoxy group.
