    • An exemplary mechanical parking system includes platforms for parking vehicles, a switch electrically connected to the platforms, cameras mounted on the platforms, a data processing device electrically connected to the cameras and the switch, and an alarm electrically connected to the data processing device. When any one of the platforms is switched to move, the cameras capture photos/videos for an environment of the mechanical parking system and send the photos/videos to the data processing device continuously. The data processing device analyzes whether there is a person appearing in the photos/videos and decides whether the movement of the platform should be stopped via the switch. After the danger is precluded, the movement of the platform is restored and the cameras start to work again, until the parking of the car is finished.

    • An indication method indicates position of an electronic device on an electronic map. The electronic device includes a global positioning system (GPS) and an e-compass. The method detects a position and an orientation of the electronic device using the GPS and the e-compass, indicates the detected position on an electronic map on a display screen of the electronic device, and marks the detected position and the detected orientation of the electronic device in the electronic map. Upon the condition that the detected direction is initialized, a default orientation of the electronic device is pointed North and the electronic map is initially oriented accordingly, the indication method then adjusts the electronic map as needed according to the detected orientation of the electronic device, and displays the adjusted electronic map on the display screen.

    • In a method for capturing non-blinking images of people using a camera device, the camera device includes an image capturing unit and a storage system. The image capturing unit captures a series of digital images of a group of persons. A face feature value and an eyes feature value of people are predefined, and are stored in the storage system. The number of faces is detected from each of the digital images according to the face feature value, and the number of eyeballs is detected from each of the face area according to the eyes feature value. The method calculates the ratio of the number of faces and the number of eyeballs, and selects the digital image of which the ratio of the face number and the eyeball number is 1:2 as a non-blinking image of the a group of persons.
