    • Methods and facilities relating to the washing and/or servicing of vehicles. A facility is provided that has at least one section specifically dedicated to vehicle cleaning or washing. Multiple vehicle bays are provided on either side of a main driveway connected to a single entrance for the section. One of two exit driveways, each parallel to the main driveway, are at the other side of each vehicle bay and lead to their corresponding exits. Each vehicle bay is at an acute angle to the main driveway and is at an obtuse angle to one of the two exit driveways. Customers' vehicles enter through the single entrance, pass through the main driveway and drive into one of the vehicle bays. Once the vehicle has been cleaned and/or serviced, the vehicle can simply drive through the vehicle bay to the corresponding exit driveway.

    • A modular, portable, drive-through tire tread wear and brake testing system including a tire tread wear analyzer and flat plate brake tester housed in an intermodal cargo shipping container. Doors open on opposing sides of the container to permit a vehicle to be driven through it and, as the vehicle passes over the floor of the modular container and the flat plate brake tester, its tires are scanned by a flush-mounted tire tread depth scanner. The scanned output, a digitized tread profile, is analyzed for tread depth, tire wear patterns from chronic under- or over-inflation, and wheel misalignment. Cameras trained on the vehicle entering the container that feed video to monitors visible to the driver plus structural components on the floor of the container help to guide the vehicle into position over the scanner. The tire and brake report is generated immediately and transmitted to the appropriate recipient.

    • An overhead storage system includes support beams forming a frame to a deck around its perimeter and four corner vertical mounts for suspending the deck from a ceiling. The frame is preferably made of Z-shaped beams supported by vertical L-shaped corner supports to provide strong support for a deck. The Z-shaped beams provide strength and a horizontal surface on which a deck can be rested. A welded wire deck can be strengthened by bonding it to ribs. In some embodiments, center supports can preferably be positioned anywhere along the length of the support beams, and do not require holes in the beams for mounting. The beams are preferably connected to the vertical corner brackets without using threaded fasteners, thereby making the assembly easier for assembly by a homeowner.
