摘要： The print head of a serial printer includes a protruding plug which is seated and locked into a receptacle on a translating carriage. An endless belt has teeth engaged in a correspondingly contoured groove of the carriage for positive connection between carriage and belt, whereby the head traverses the printing medium for printing thereon. The platen is positively and simply held and includes a resin surface for impact of print wires. The gap between the head and platen is readily adjusted in steps by motion of a lever.

The printing device includes a frame and a carriage slidably supported on the frame for lateral translation thereacross. A printing head is supported on the carriage and includes a nose member which supports the plurality of printing wires. First and second holding members are disposed on the carriage so that the nose member is intermediate the first and second holding members. A ribbon mask constructed from an elastic material is disposed on the nose member. The ribbon mask is removably held between the first and second holding members and extends across the nose member.

摘要： A paper feeding apparatus for use in a printer is capable of feeding both continuous computer or fan-fold paper having holes in the peripheral edges thereof and single sheets of paper such as letter paper. The paper feeding apparatus includes a frame having a platen rotatably supported thereon and a guide shaft supported on the frame. First and second paper feeding members are disposed on the guide shaft and spaced apart for feeding a fan-fold paper along the peripheral edges thereof by means of the holes therealong. First and second guide members are disposed intermediate the first and second paper feeding members. The first and second paper guide members each have a first portion for guiding a continuous fan-fold paper fed by the first and second paper feeding members, a second portion for guiding a single sheet of paper while being inserted and fed into the printer and a third surface for guiding a single sheet of paper while it is being fed out of the printer, past the platen.

摘要： A paper feeding apparatus associated with a printer for storing a plurality of individual recording media and for controlling the release of individual recording media from a storage device toward a platen of the printer. A transmission mechanism couples rotation of the platen in a counterclockwise direction which rotates the paper feeding rollers in a clockwise direction for releasing the individual recording media from the storage device. Rotation of the platen in a clockwise direction halts rotation of the paper feeding rollers preventing further release of individual recording media from the storage device while rotating auxiliary paper feeding rollers in a counterclockwise direction for advancing the individual recording medium toward the platen. A release lever disengages the paper feeding rollers and auxiliary paper feeding mechanism to permit use of continuous print media.
