    • The present invention is directed to novel 2,5-dichlorophenylthioglycolic acid derivative, a process for their production and a process for producing the desired product 2,5-dichlorophenylthioglycolic acid derived from said novel compounds. 2,5-dichlorophenylthioglycolic acid derivative of the present invention can be obtained by reacting 2,4,5-trichlorobenzensulfonates and thioglycolic acid in the presence of base, and said desired product can be obtained by desulfonating said compound in an aqueous solution of mineral acid. Novel 4-carboxymethylthio-2,5-dichlorobenzenesulfonates of the present invention can be used advantageously as an intermediate for the production of 2,5-dichlorophenylthioglycolic acid. The use of said intermediate makes it possible to obtain the desired product in a decreased process steps with high yield. In addition, it poses no problem of environmental pollution as pointed out with conventional methods because it uses no heavy metals.

    • CCP data as common data, which can be utilized by a plurality of users or applications, are stored in a CCP buffer in units of data types (format IDs). More specifically, the CCP buffer stores one CCP data per format ID. Upon reception of a request for CCP data from an application, the system analyzes this request to acquire the format ID of the CCP data requested by the application. The system searches CCP data having a format ID coinciding with the requested format ID from data management information of CCP data. The system passes the searched CCP data to the application, and ends processing. In this manner, CCP data can be stored in correspondence with a plurality of data types, and required CCP data can be easily selected by using its format ID. Therefore, operability with respect to common data can be improved, and work efficiency of users can be improved.

    • An apparatus for imprinting the raised indicia from a credit card on a copy sheet has a support provided with a holder for the credit card. A printing head is movable on the support between a raised position spaced from the holder and a lowered position juxtaposed therewith. In this lowered position an electrical actuator in the head can roll a platen roller across the card to imprint indicia on the card on a copy sheet overlying the card. An electromagnet in the support holds the head in the lowered position during the printing cycle. Switches are provided to energize the actuator once the head is fully in the lowered position and to deenergize the holding electromagnet after the printing cycle is completed so that the head can return to the raised position.
