摘要： A process for producing aromatic polyester which comprises mixing5 to 70 mol % (as calculated by converting the repeating unit mentioned below into one molecule) of polyester (A) with the repeating unit represented by general formula (I), ##STR1## and 95 to 30 mol % of an acyloxyl aromatic carboxylic acid (B), with 0.1 to 20 mol % based on the total amount of (A) and (B), of a diacyloxy aromatic compound (C) represented by general formula (II), ##STR2## and reacting the resulting mixture. The aromatic polyester is excellent in elasticity and mechanical strength, as well as toughness.

摘要： Provided is a separator for non-aqueous batteries, capable of being usefully used in non-aqueous batteries, and a non-aqueous battery equipped with this separator. The separator for non-aqueous batteries includes: a base layer comprising a fiber aggregate, and an electrolyte-swellable resin layer formed on at least one surface of the base layer, the resin layer comprising a urethane resin (C) obtained by reacting a polyol (A) including a vinyl polymer (a1) and a polyether polyol (a2) with a polyisocyanate (B). The vinyl polymer (a1) has as a main chain a vinyl polymer (a1′) having two hydroxyl groups at one of the termini of the main chain, and a polyoxyethylene chain having a number average molecular weight of 200 to 800 as a side chain, the percentage of the polyoxyethylene chain based on the vinyl polymer (a1) being within the range of 70 mass % to 98 mass %.

摘要： Disclosed is a circuit breaker switch configuration in which a conducting member in the switch for connecting a switch terminal to a switch contact is shaped to form a loop current path, such that when a current flows in the switch, a magnetic field is established in the vicinity of the switch contacts. Such a magnetic field, which is appropriately oriented, serves to confine a plasma generated by an arc discharge which occurs between the switch contacts when the switch is initially opened. The confinement of the arc discharge plasma by the magnetic field reduces the extent of the plasma and permits the use of smaller arc-extinguishing means in the switch and affords more rapid extinguishment of the arc discharge.

摘要： An apparatus detects a leakage position between the upstream and downstream points of a fluid passage, where the fluid leaks. The flow rate of the fluid is detected both at the upstream and downstream points repeatedly at intervals much shorter than a difference .DELTA..tau. between time .tau..sub.1 and time .tau..sub.2 which elapse until a flow rate change appears respectively at the upstream and downstream points. Thus the pattern of the flow rate variation is detected with respect to the time .tau..sub.1 and the time .tau..sub.2, thereby obtaining the time difference .DELTA..tau.. Based on the time difference .DELTA..tau., the distance x between the upstream and downstream points is obtained, thus locating the fluid leakage position, by the following formula: ##EQU1## where l denotes the distance between the upstream and downstream points, and a the speed of sound through the fluid.
