摘要： Disclosed is a substantially water-free pre-treatment composition having at least one of an acid or an acid anhydride in an organic matrix. Also disclosed is a kit of parts having the pre-treatment composition and an ink composition that has an intrinsic inferior water fastness when printed, where the ink contains a compound that is soluble in alkaline environment (ink as such) and insoluble in a neutral and/or acidic environment. Also disclosed is a printing method for improving the water fastness of a print made with an ink that has intrinsically low water fastness, by using a pre-treatment composition as disclosed.

摘要： A line-head-type inkjet image-forming method includes ejecting a gel ink to a recording medium at a first coverage rate that is less than 100% and set to allow dots of newly ejected gel ink to unite with dots of the gel ink already landed on the recording medium. The gel ink contains a specific amount of a polymer dispersant based on the amount of the colorant and has a specific contact angle on the recording medium. The gel ink is ejected from nozzles so as to form dots with a diameter slightly larger according to the resolution of the image to be formed.

The ink composition contains (A) a conductive polymer, (B) a binder, and (C) a conductivity enhancer, wherein the composition has a viscosity at 25° C. of 5 to 500 dPa·s and a solids content of 10% to 80% by weight, and the composition exhibits a surface resistivity of 2000 Ω/sq or lower and a total light transmittance of 70% or higher when applied at a wet film thickness of 15 μm.

摘要： An ink composition and an adhesion promoter are provided. The adhesion promoter is suitable for production while remaining the stronger adhesion. The adhesion promoter is formed by the reaction of at least one alpha hydroxy acid, at least one alpha hydroxy acid ester, and a polymer having hydroxyl group, amino group, carboxyl group, or a combination thereof with a metal alkoxide. By combining the renewable and green alpha hydroxy acid and safer plasticizing alpha hydroxy acid ester, and the polymer as reagents to react with the metal alkoxide, the eco-friendly and non-toxic adhesion promoter with superior adhesion for use in ink composition can be obtained. The ink composition includes the adhesion promoter, a pigment, a polymeric binder, and a solvent for the polymeric binder. The ink composition is odorless and colorless, and shows good wet crinkle resistance. Especially, the ink composition is suitable for printing on the food package.

The present invention relates to a water-based ink for ink-jet printing, including pigment-containing water-insoluble polymer particles A, water-insoluble polymer particles B, an organic solvent C and water, in which the water-insoluble polymer particles A are constituted of a water-insoluble polymer (a) including a constitutional unit derived from an ionic monomer, a constitutional unit derived from an aromatic ring-containing hydrophobic monomer and a constitutional unit derived from a specific hydrophilic nonionic monomer; the constitutional unit derived from the hydrophilic nonionic monomer is present in an amount of not less than 13% by mass and not more than 45% by mass on the basis of whole constitutional units in the water-insoluble polymer (a); the organic solvent C includes one or more organic solvents having a boiling point of 90° C. or higher in which a weighted mean boiling point of the organic solvent C which is weighted by contents (% by mass) of the respective organic solvents in the organic solvent C is 250° C. or lower; and a content of the organic solvent C in the water-based ink is not less than 20% by mass.
