摘要： A non-intrusive sensor for in-situ measurement of recession rate of heat shield ablatives. An ultrasonic wave source is carried in the housing. A microphone is also carried in the housing, for collecting the reflected ultrasonic waves from an interface surface of the ablative material. A time phasing control circuit is also included for time-phasing the ultrasonic wave source so that the waves reflected from the interface surface of the ablative material focus on the microphone, to maximize the acoustic pressure detected by the microphone and to mitigate acoustic velocity variation effects through the material through a de-coupling process that involves a software algorithm. A software circuit for computing the location off of which the ultrasonic waves scattered to focus back at the microphone is also included, so that the recession rate of the heat shield ablative may be monitored in real-time through the scan-focus approach.

摘要： A helmet features a sound management mechanism within a hard exterior shell and an interior of expanded polystyrene foam. Ear cups embedded within the shell surround the ears, with a torus-shaped soft material forming a seal against the wearer's head. The helmet allows the transition of ear cups between engaged and disengaged positions. The engaged position is against the head. The disengaged position is away from the head, allowing easy placement and removing of the helmet. Positions may be transitioned using one hand. The helmet may include lateral adjustment of ear cups, and some versions incorporate electronic audio features like noise cancellation, communication capabilities, and wireless connectivity.

摘要： A clutch or brake assembly is disclosed for controlling the relative rotation between two rotary members. Wedge means are carried between a pair of facing cam plate surfaces by an axial core member. The wedge means are axially movable with respect to the core member but prevented from rotating about the core member. The wedge means extend beyond the ends of the core member but, when the cam surfaces are aligned, are spaced therefrom to permit relative rotation between cam surfaces and the core member. When the cam plates are moved out of alignment, the distance between them is less than the axial length of the wedge means, causing the wedge means to wedge tightly between the cam plates. Because the wedge means is prevented from rotating relative to the core member, when it is wedged or locked between the cam plates they are also prevented from rotating relative to the core member.
