    • An electrical switch in which during a switchoff operation the switchoff current is commuted from a continuous current path through the switch to an extinction current path which includes a pair of separable contact members one of which is located in a region of the switch housing within which a relatively low gas pressure exists, the other contact member being located within a pressure chamber in which a higher gas pressure is generated during the switchoff operation by heating the gas electrically with an auxiliary rotating arc drawn between a pair of arcing members located within the pressure chamber and which disengage during the switchoff movement. The heated and pressurized gas within the pressure chamber is discharged through a small opening in a nozzle which is opened as the contact members separate thus blasting and extinguishing the arc formed therebetween.

    • The tension is modulated by a weft-braking device controlled by a tension control block programmed for comparing the measured tension with a reference tension, and for transmitting a braking level signal to the weft-braking device, which braking level signal is adapted to minimize the difference between the measured tension and the reference tension. The yarn consumption speed is calculated, then the yarn consumption speed is compared with a predetermined threshold speed, and if the calculated consumption speed overcomes the predetermined threshold value, the tension control block is enabled, while, if the calculated consumption speed is lower than the threshold value, the tension control block is disabled and the last signal generated by the latter is maintained as braking signal, until the yarn consumption speed overcomes again the threshold value.

    • A device for monitoring the yarn reserve in weft feeders for textile looms, comprising an active element which is capable of detecting the presence of the turns of yarn that constitute the yarn reserve wound on the drum of the feeder. The device is associated with an intermediate support of its own which is pivoted to the fixed frame of the feeder and can oscillate about its own pivoting fulcrum in contrast with the action of a contrast spring in order to vary the contact pressure or inclination of the active element on, or with respect to, the drum of the feeder; the oscillation for adjusting the intermediate support of the monitoring device is produced by a downward-acting adjustment screw which acts on said support.
