    • The present invention provides an improved control system for a driven cable reel mounted on a vehicle wherein the reel is adapted to pay-in and pay-out electrical cable to supply power to the vehicle, such as a mine car. The control system modifies the torque supplied by the reel drive so as to maintain a relatively constant tension on the cable. The improved control system has a first or basic output which provides higher torque when the reel is paying in cable and provides lower torque when the reel is paying out cable, the difference in drive torque being necessary to compensate for the reversal of frictional characteristics during paying in and paying out of the cable. The control system further provides a transient condition output signal to modulate the drive of the cable reel in a manner which compensates for acceleration and deceleration of the cable reel to reduce cable slack and prevent a sudden increase in cable tension which could cause cable breakage.

    • The present invention is directed to a specialized hose end connector utilized for connecting a hydraulic hose dimensioned according to a first industry standard to a hydraulic port dimensioned according to a second industry standard. As one example meant for illustrative purposes only, the specialized hose end connector can secure a SAE Code 61 dimensioned hydraulic hose to a SAE Code 62 dimensioned hydraulic port. The specialized hose end connector eliminates the need for prior art adaptor plates and requires no extra labor steps or sealing surfaces than normally encountered in standard hose end connectors.

    • A fish stringer system includes multiple stringers of multiple lengths. Each stringer has an outer diameter with a reduced diameter portion. Each snap assembly includes a slider that includes a gap for receiving the reduced diameter portion of the stringer, wherein the slider has an inside dimension that allows the slider to slide over the outer diameter of the stringer. Each snap assembly includes a swivel coupled to the slider, and a snap coupled to the swivel. The sliders may be different colors, any of which can be glow-in-the-dark, and the snaps may be different sizes. The stringer system provides a way to easily put fish on a stringer regardless of where the fisherman is located.

    • A temperature control circuit provides for optical isolation, dry start protection, dedicated load control, manual reset, and relay control in hot water heaters and related applications. The control circuit removes power from a load at a first temperature, and includes a first optical isolation device, a first diode temperature sensor, and a first switching mechanism. The first optical isolation device controls operation of a power source, where the power source is provided to the load, such as a hot water heater heating element. The first diode temperature sensor is biased to provide a switching signal at the first temperature. The first switching mechanism is disposed between the first diode temperature sensor and the first optical isolation device, where the first switching mechanism disengages operation of the first optical isolation device in response to the switching signal. The control circuit can further include a high limit cycling circuit for disengaging operation of the power source at the second temperature. A latching circuit can be used to maintain the temperature control circuit in a switched state until a manual reset occurs.
