    • The invention includes a method, and a component made according to the method having at least one thread pattern formed thereon from a stamping method. The invention includes a tubular member comprising a body having a wall formed from a wrapped sheet of stock to define an interior wall and an exterior wall, a seam in the wall defining a first and second end of the wrapped sheet of stock, and a thread pattern stamped on one of the interior and exterior wall. The method comprises the steps of forming a blank from sheet of stock having first and second opposing surfaces and at least a first and second edge. A thread pattern is formed onto at least one of the first and second opposing surfaces extending between the first and second edge while in a substantially sheet-like form. Following the formation of the thread pattern, the method includes bending the sheet stock into a tubular member such that the thread pattern on one of the first and second surfaces is substantially aligned about a circumference.

    • A circuit and method are disclosed for protecting an integrated circuit (IC) against transient overvoltages. The circuit comprises a balun transformer and a normally-off transistor. The balun input terminals are connected to an unbalanced circuit, while the balun output terminals are connected to a balanced circuit. The transistor is connected between the balun output terminals and has a gate connected to ground or to some other reference voltage. When an overvoltage transient signal reaches the balun input terminals, the balun transformer converts the transient to a balanced transient signal on the two branches of the balanced circuit. During overvoltage conditions, one balun output terminal will have a voltage which swings low enough that the protection transistor turns on, effectively shorting the overvoltage spike and protecting any upstream (or downstream) IC components from damage. When the transient is over, the transistor returns to the “off” state.

    • A security system for recording information outside a vehicle and delivering such information to a remote location includes a plurality of cameras mounted within a housing with radial lines of sight for providing a panoramic view of the surroundings. The present invention further includes a communication mechanism for transmitting an image to a remote location. A user interface includes one of a hand-operable video phone, personal computer and cellcorder. The present invention further includes an image stabilizing mechanism for maintaining the lines of sight along a linear path. The image stabilizing mechanism is secured to the housing and cameras. Such an image stabilizing mechanism includes a housing that has a motor, a gyro, and a helical spring member, which provide support as the vehicle is in motion.

    • Container package for transporting a plurality of silicon wafers for shipment as well as preventing contamination thereof. The wafer container package includes a wafer cassette having two sides, a configured end, and an H bar end including an upper and lower ramp support with the bar being reinforced by a partially cylindrical rod; a package bottom including four sides, an edge surrounding the sides, hook latches, four internal side dividing members and a flat bottom; and a package top including four sides, a lip to encompass the edge, configured independent opposing flexible grooved members, and recessed top surface for stacking where the cassette is positioned by internal side dividers in the package tops and bottoms for secure placement. The three components provide that the cassette mates between the package tops and bottoms, the wafers mate in the cassette and with the top opposing members, the package tops and bottoms mate between the trough, and the hook ends secure the package tops and bottoms together and also secure the cassette and wafers therein. The sides of the package are smooth, providing for a flush perimeter for taping. The recessed top surface provides for stacking of like packages. The smooth, rounded contour design of the package provides a package design for shrink wrapping. The package limits and prohibits wafer movement and eliminates wafer breakage.
