When the adapter is assembled and connected to a door knob or to a supporting shaft, stalk or rotation axis of a door knob, the lever handle may be actuated by force or torque an end-user applies to the lever handle which thereby releases or otherwise actuates an associated latch mechanism without undue effort by the end-user.
