摘要： A cooling system for an outboard motor pumps water from a body of water through certain selected portions of the outboard motor and through a heat exchanger which, in turn, comprises a coolant conduit that is directed to conduct the coolant in thermal communication with various portions of the outboard motor. The engine block is cooled by a flow of the coolant and an engine head is cooled by a flow of water from the body of water. Other heat emitting devices are connected in thermal and fluid communication with the water and coolant conduits.

摘要： A cooling system for a marine engine having a turbocharger provides for the flow of coolant through heat emitting objects prior to flowing through a coolant jacket of the turbocharger itself. This avoids the potentially disadvantageous circumstance of directing cold water directly from a body of water through the cooling jacket of the turbocharger. Both open loop and closed loop versions of the invention are illustrated and described.

摘要： In a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine, the cylinders are disposed in two rows, the cylinders in one row being staggered with respect to the cylinders in the other row and the longitudinal axes of the cylinders in the first row being disposed at an angle to the longitudinal axes of the cylinders in the other row. The outlet valves are located close to the plane of symmetry between the rows of cylinders whereas the inlet valves are located out of this plane. All of the outlet valves of both rows of cylinders are provided with a common centrally located camshaft whereas the inlet valves of each row of cylinders is provided with a dedicated sidelocated camshaft for each row.

摘要： An overhead cam motorcycle engine includes a cylinder head, a cam cover coupled to the cylinder head, a sealing gasket, and a substantially rigid insert. The cylinder head includes an aperture that is substantially axially aligned with an engine camshaft axis. The resilient gasket includes a sealing jacket that defines an opening. The gasket is positioned between the cylinder head and the cam cover such that the sealing jacket occupies the aperture. The insert is positioned in the opening in the sealing jacket to seal the cylinder head and cam cover interface.

摘要： A motorcycle engine capable of being supported within a frame. The engine includes a cylinder head having an upper peripheral edge and a valve cover having an assembled width and a lower peripheral edge substantially corresponding in shape to the upper peripheral edge of the cylinder head. The valve cover includes first and second portions coupled together along an engagement surface that does not extend across the entire assembled width of the valve cover. The second portion is separable from the first portion along the engagement surface to facilitate removal of the first portion from the engine. In one aspect of the invention, the first and second portions are separate castings.
