    • An audio-visual phonograph device including a visual image projection system is provided which includes a case for the phonograph device having a lid that serves as a screen for the projection of images formed on a flat disc. The phonograph device further includes a variable speed turntable and a pick-up tone arm employed to reproduce the audio message on the records. The turntable is synchronized with a carrier onto which the visual image disc is removably mounted. The carrier rotates in synchronism with the turntable advancing a continuous image that is projected onto the screen in a timed relation with the correlated audio message.

    • A construction toy including a base portion having a grid defined thereon by a plurality of substantially vertical grooves for use in combination with accessory articles. The grooves defined on the grid are arranged to intersect one another at right angles, each pair of which defines a track section over which a suitable vehicle may travel. A plurality of building wall panels are provided for use by positioning in the grooves of the grid to maintain the panels in a generally vertical position to permit combining of the panels to define structures such as houses, trees, or other structures. A plurality of track sections may be connected to the base to provide a path of travel to and away from the base. A connecting device is provided on the end of each track section for connection between adjacent track sections or to the base to secure the assembly as a unitary layout. Each track section is reversible and includes on one side a generally flat surface for traversing by vehicles such as cars and trucks. A pair of tracks are provided on the other side of the track sections for use with vehicles having flanged wheels. Spaced tabs are provided along the tracks to strike the wheel flanges and produce a clicking sound as the vehicle rolls along the track.

Each set of push buttons is arranged so that the ten fingers of a player may be placed on the push buttons and any one of the LED's in the matrix may be rapidly selected by either player by simultaneous actuation of one push button in each of his groups. A game selector switch may be moved to select one of a number of games of action, reaction or strategy each of which is controlled by a microprocessor which stores selection of LED's by each player, sets up random patterns on the matrix which are randomly altered, keeps track of each player's score and provides audible and visual signals informing the players of the progress of the game, etc.

    • A novel game apparatus developed as a variation of a tic-tac-toe theme employs a base having multiple sets of three-dimensional, diamond shaped matrices and two different types of playing pieces. Each playing piece has a pair of different symbols such as an "X" and "O" on an upper surface and the pieces are played by placement over pairs of playing spaces on the matrices. Each matrix may be color coded to distinguish from adjacent matrices. One type of playing piece is diamond shaped and is adapted for placement only within the boundaries of a single matrix. The other type of playing piece is angle shaped and is adapted for placement only across a boundary line between adjacent matrices. The "X" and "O" symbol of the playing piece is adapted to cover a pair of play spaces on the base. The player to complete the greatest number of rows of three of the same symbols wins the game.

    • An amusement device useful in spelling education includes a base structure having an upper playing board with a plurality of openings arranged in a matrix of rows and columns.
