    • A method of producing a composite plastic molded article having at least one layer of web material and a plastic body, includes placement of the web material between mold halves of an injection mold and deforming the web material through closing of the mold. Subsequently, negative pressure is applied on one side of the web material and/or excess pressure is applied on its other side, so that the web material bears upon a mold half. Plastic mass is then introduced into the opening mold in such a way that the feed rate of the plastic mass and the opening speed of the injection mold are coordinated with each other. Once a certain opening gap has been reached, the mold is closed and the plastic article is embossed.

    • An injection-molding apparatus for making a hollow-wall container having sides and a base has front and rear mold parts together forming side surfaces of a mold cavity centered on an axis and a floor mold part defining a base surface of the mold cavity. An inner core sleeve and an outer core sleeve are axially displaceable relative to each other and to the mold parts and have front ends. The sleeves together form a passage extending to the front ends and the front ends form a compartment. A sleeve actuator can displace the sleeves axially between a front position with the front ends of the sleeves projecting relatively far into the cavity and a rear position with the front ends of the sleeves generally retracted from the cavity. A piston/cylinder unit formed between the sleeves connected to the passage is pressurizable to shift the sleeves relative to each other and thereby open up the compartment into the cavity. A floor actuator can axially shift the floor between front and rear positions.

    • Apparatus for producing thermoplastic injection-molded parts reinforced with long fibers, includes a compounder having two meshing screws rotating in a same direction for continuously generating a stream of melt of thermoplastic material reinforced with long fibers. Melt is alternatingly conducted to at least two piston and cylinder units for injection into at least one cavity of an injection mold at a suitable pressure. Each of the piston and cylinder units includes a cylinder and a differential piston movably received in the cylinder and dividing the cylinder into a feed chamber and an injection chamber, wherein the piston has a relatively greater piston surface, adjacent the injection chamber, and a relatively smaller piston surface, adjacent the feed chamber. The differential piston has a passageway for interconnecting the greater piston surface and the smaller piston surface to permit a flow of melt from the feed chamber into the injection chamber, whereby a flow of melt from the injection chamber back to the feed chamber is inhibited by a non-return valve disposed in the passageway of the differential piston.
