    • A control circuit for a fuel-injected internal combustion engine provides a substitute program for generation of fuel injection control pulses during engine starts at low temperatures. The substitute injection control pulses are made dependent on the ambient or engine temperature in the sense that, the lower the temperature, the greater is the length of the injection pulses, i.e., the larger is the quantity of initially injected fuel. The length of the injection pulses also depends on the elapsed duration of the engine starting attempt in the sense of gradually reducing the injected fuel quantity as the unsuccessful engine cranking proceeds. A fully opened throttle during engine cranking signals a flooded engine condition and completely interrupts fuel injection.

    • A device for metering fuel in an internal combustion engine which comprises sensors for operating parameters, an acceleration detecting stage with a subsequently connected pulse generating stage as well as a pulse lengthening stage, and a fuel metering system wherein the acceleration detecting stage is indirectly and/or directly associated with at least one of a plurality of components including an oscillation stopper (to prevent renewed triggering in case of an oscillation-carrying input signal), a blocking stage (for unequivocal and secure triggering), a repetition stopper (to avoid multiple triggering during gradual and longer-term signal rises), and a switching suppressor (to prevent a voltage rise after a switching step from being evaluated as an instance of acceleration) so that the device serves to operate the acceleration enrichment of the fuel-air mixture for the internal combustion engine with a minimum of disturbance thereby attaining optimum acceleration processes.

    • The maximum speed of an internal combustion engine is limited by a device which compares the period of rpm-synchronous pulses with the time constant of a reference multivibrator. If the engine rpm is so high that a pulse terminates prior to expiration of the reference time period, a gate is activated and acts through further multivibrator circuits to interrupt the fuel delivery to the engine, e.g., the fuel injection control pulses are suppressed. If the maximum rpm is exceeded only intermittently, the device restores normal fuel injection control pulses after a predetermined number of pulses has been suppressed. If the maximum rpm is exceeded continuously, the device restores normal fuel control somewhat later than the time at which the engine speed drops to below maximum rpm.

    • A warm-up regulator device for enriching the air-fuel mixture delivered to an internal combustion engine during the engine warm-up phase, said engine having a fuel-metering system with a switching arrangement for generating metering signals in response to a group of engine operating parameters, a compensation stage for correcting the metering signals and a fuel-metering means, wherein the compensation stage is connected to a function generator for producing a signal which is speed-responsive to compensate for condensation losses in the walls of the fuel lines and engine when the engine is cold thus optimizing the operation of the engine. Also disclosed are several ways for reducing the compensation for condensation losses at higher speeds to prevent a negative affect on the exhaust gases and to match the regulator to various engines.

    • A method and an apparatus for the determination of the injection time in externally ignited internal combustion engines, which serve to provide the optimal injection time under given operating conditions, this injection time being derived on the basis of the rpm and the angle of the throttle valve wherein a basic injection time signal is derived from an rpm and a throttle valve angle signal and this signal is subsequently modified by means of a controlled nonlinear function generator to closely approximate an empirically ascertained optimal value for the injection time under given operating conditions, the basic injection time signal being formed in a divider circuit to provide an output signal which is fed to at least one nonlinearity function generator controllable in accordance with the throttle valve angle and the rpm.
