摘要： A method detects mass flows to the intake manifold of an internal combustion engine having a device for controlling the air supply to the intake manifold and having a sensor for detecting the intake manifold pressure and having a control apparatus for evaluating a trace of the intake manifold pressure. In the context of the method, when the internal combustion engine is switched off, the supply of air to the intake manifold is reduced in a predetermined manner and the trace of the intake manifold pressure, which adjusts thereupon, is evaluated for detecting the mass flows.

摘要： A method for monitoring a secondary air system in combination with the exhaust-gas system of a motor vehicle is described. The method includes the steps of: providing a probe downstream of the junction of a secondary air line into the exhaust-gas channel; obtaining an air/fuel ratio (&lgr;exhaust gas) utilizing the probe; obtaining a signal for the intake air flow (massintake air); arithmetically determining the secondary air mass (masssecondary air) in dependence upon (a) the ratio of intake air flow to fuel (&lgr;engine), which is metered per unit of time; (b) the air/fuel ratio (&lgr;exhaust gas); and, (c) the signal for the intake air flow (massintake air); and, evaluating the operability of the secondary air system in dependence upon the secondary air mass (masssecondary air).
