摘要： Disclosed herein is a process for the reductive alkylation of primary amines to form secondary amines, by high pressure reaction of the primary amine with an alkylating agent and hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst which comprises metallic palladium. A process of the present invention is characterized in having high conversion rates and high selectivities, both greater than 95% on a first pass through the reactor. According to a preferred embodiment, the secondary amine produced comprises at least one 2-alkyl group bonded to the nitrogen atom of the primary amine product.

Higher reaction rates for alkanolamine production than provided in the prior art may be achieved by use of a process according to the invention. Alkanolamines having various levels of nitrogen may be produced by the invention.

摘要： The present invention relates to a process for the reduction of the color of polyamines by reacting at elevated temperature, e.g. 120.degree.-170.degree. C., and pressure, e.g. 500 to 6000 psig. the colored polyamines, e.g. triethylenetetramine and tetraethylenepentamine, in the presence of a ruthenium on alumina hydrogenation catalyst. The catalyst for the polyamine decolorization process preferably has at least 0.5 wt. % Ru. In the process of the present invention, the polyamines can either be distilled into a narrow product composition and then hydrogenareal, or a crude polyamine product can be hydrogenated and then distilled to produce the desired product composition.

摘要： An epoxy resin composition comprises the cured reaction product of an epoxy resin and a lactone-imidazole complex. For example, complexes of butyrolactone and caprolactone with 1-isopropyl-2-methyl imidazole were formed wherein the mole ratio of lactone:imidazole ranged from 1:1 to 2:1. The complexes are less reactive than the imidazole alone, giving them an extended pot life. The compositions are useful for making filament windings where an extended working time is required. Other applications include those in which it would be impractical to use the more reactive unmodified imidazole as the sole curing agent.
