    • In a method for manufacturing a composite-metal-forming material, heating a metal material a Mg alloy or an Al alloy is heated to a temperature in a region where a solid and a liquid are both present to thereby yield a semi-molten metal material in a semi-molten state. An additive material is introduced to the semi-molten metal material and kneading is performed to obtain a composite metal material. The composite metal material is heated to a solution temperature of the metal material and a solution treatment is performed to thereby yield a composite-metal-forming material. The additive material introduced is a carbon nano-composite material formed by mixing a carbon nanomaterial and a metal powder to obtain a carbon nano-composite metal powder, compacting the carbon nano-composite metal powder into a solid to obtain a preform, heating the preform in a vacuum, inert gas, or non-oxidizing gas atmosphere to a temperature in a region where a solid and a liquid are both present, and applying pressure to the heated preform.

    • An electrical connector is offered which has a crimp contact connected with a connector cable, the crimp contact being held in position to a connector housing without rattling. The crimp contact has sidewall surfaces of U-shaped cross section. The sidewall surfaces are located on opposite sides. The sidewall surfaces have outwardly facing engagement protrusions. The connector housing has a connector body and a disengagement-preventing cover for closing a top portion of the connector body to prevent the crimp contact from coming off upward after the crimp contact has been mounted in the connector body. The connector body has engagement portions in which the protrusions of the crimp contact are inserted and received perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the connector cable. The protrusions are engaged in the engagement portions. The disengagement-preventing cover is mounted to the connector body via a hinge such that the cover can be opened and closed.

    • An electrical connector having a contact connection portion electrically shielded better than heretofore. The connector is reduced in size and cost. The connector has contacts connected with a signal line, an insulative housing, and a metal shell surrounding and electrically shielding the housing except for a connection portion that is a region necessary for connection with a mating member. The housing has accommodation portions for receiving the contacts. A part of the metal shell has a shielding wall surface surrounding the entire outer periphery of a peripheral wall forming the connection portion of the housing with a given gap therebetween. The four sides of the shielding wall surface have lock portions by which the receptacle connector of the mating member is engaged and anchored.
