    • The battery pack has a battery cell 11, a circuit board 22 disposed along one end-plane 11a of the battery cell 11,and a circuit board holder 23 that intervenes between the circuit board 22 and the battery cell 11 end-plane 11a. The circuit board holder 23 is provided with a main body that holds the circuit board 22 and four projections 23h-23k protruding towards the end-plane 11a of the battery cell 11 (in the negative direction along the X-axis). Further, the projections 23h-23k on the circuit board holder 23 have lower mechanical strength than the main body and function as buffers to absorb dimension variation in the battery cell 11. Specifically, the end regions of the projections 23h-23k that contact an insulating board 12 disposed on top of the battery cell 11 end-plane 11a are squashed down by just an amount to absorb the battery cell 11 dimension variation.

    • A communication control apparatus which effectively uses a memory and does not need complicated hardware is realized. Each area of a frame assembly memory 2 is set to the maximum frame length which is handled. When a cell of a new connection is inputted, a memory write control unit (1) allocates the connection to an empty area in the memory (2) and writes the cell therein. When the cell of the same connection as that already allocated to any area is inputted, it is written into the allocated area. If a plurality of cells of one frame have already been written in the area of the same connection, the connection is allocated to another new area and the cell is written therein. A memory read control unit (3) reads out the cells of one frame and outputs them as one completed-frame data.

    • The battery pack holds a first block adjacent to a second block in a case. The first and second blocks are a plurality of circular cylindrical batteries arranged in the same horizontal plane. The first and second blocks are each made up of N batteries lined up side-by-side in parallel fashion to form a lateral battery array, and M perpendicular batteries in close proximity to an electrode end of the lateral battery array and oriented at right angles to the batteries of the lateral battery array. The circular cylindrical batteries of the first and second blocks are arranged with point-by-point symmetry about the center of the rectangular case. Further, the electrode ends of perpendicular batteries protrude beyond a side of the lateral battery array towards the neighboring block to provide center region space between the first and second blocks.
