摘要： Apparatus, and an associated method, provides for field-testing and calibration of a WLAN device. In testing of the receive portion of the WLAN device, test apparatus is provided with a transmit signal of known characteristics. The test apparatus selectably attenuates the transmit signal to form an attenuated signal. The WLAN device is connected to receive the transmit signal, once attenuated by the test apparatus. Responsive to differences between measured and calculated characteristics of the transmit signal, calibration for determination of proper operation of the WLAN device is made and calibration of the WLAN device is effectuated.

摘要： A communication control apparatus which effectively uses a memory and does not need complicated hardware is realized. Each area of a frame assembly memory 2 is set to the maximum frame length which is handled. When a cell of a new connection is inputted, a memory write control unit (1) allocates the connection to an empty area in the memory (2) and writes the cell therein. When the cell of the same connection as that already allocated to any area is inputted, it is written into the allocated area. If a plurality of cells of one frame have already been written in the area of the same connection, the connection is allocated to another new area and the cell is written therein. A memory read control unit (3) reads out the cells of one frame and outputs them as one completed-frame data.

摘要： A data communication method and apparatus is presented that allows communication in a distributed heterogeneous network. Communications managers reside in local processing environments and are responsible for interfacing local end users with the remainder of the heterogeneous network. Each communications manager receives distribution units from end users, the distribution units being assigned various priority levels and levels of assurance. Within each communications manager, an adjacent communications manager is determined in accordance with a communications path to a destination for the distribution unit. The distribution unit is then configured according to a network protocol stack existing between the communications manager and the adjacent communications manager, and the distribution units are transmitted according to priority. Each communications manager can have any number of adjacent communications managers each communicating through different network protocol stacks. Also described is load distribution among a complex of processors that share common functions, as well as control of information flow between adjacent communications managers.

Fixed or semi-fixed virtual connection connect each user interface and a corresponding connectionless service processor and interconnect the connectionless service processors. A data packet received from a user terminal is converted into an ATM cell by the user interface and delivered to the connectionless service processor through the virtual connection. In the connectionless service processor, an ATM cell is transferred into a virtual connection located in the direction in which the destination user interface is provided to thereby carry out routine to the ATM cell.

摘要： An ATM switching system which includes an input interface which is provided every incoming line and serves to convert header information of each input cell into internal routing information, a shared buffer memory and a cell writing control unit which forms normal cell list structures, which are prepared in correspondence to outgoing lines and in which a plurality of normal cells are chained together with their next addresses, and a broadcast cell list structure, in which a plurality of broadcast cells are chained together with their next addresses, in the shared buffer memory, and serves to add successively the input cells to ones of the list structures, which are selected in correspondence to respective internal routing information. The invention also includes a cell reading control unit which serves to fetch selectively the cell from the list structures formed in the shared buffer memory to distribute the cell thus fetched to the associated outgoing lines. The cell reading control unit includes a broadcast destination table for "storing broadcast destination specifying information for specifying the outgoing lines, through which the broadcast cell is to be output, using a bit pattern, in correspondence to the internal routing information of the broadcast cell".

摘要： For transmitting digital data between any parties of an N-ISDN network, the latter is interlinked with an ATM network. Two network adaptors are connected in each case with one node of each of the networks over incoming and outgoing lines of the respective network norm. The network adaptors are constructed on the side of the N-ISDN network for receiving and sending out time-multiplexed octets and, on the side of the ATM network, for receiving and sending out cells, which serve as addressed carriers for octets and have the same destination direction. The network adaptors operate free of blockages and losses.
