    • A tapered section and a flange section which constitute reinforcements are provided on mounting members to which a blower (fan shroud) is to be attached. The reinforcements are provided on the sides of the reinforcements which are in contact with a longer side wall surface of a rectangular tank. According to this structure, it is possible to prevent the longer side wall surface from deforming, while mitigating the concentration of stress to the joint portions between the mounting members and the longer side wall surface. Therefore, the mechanical strength, reliability and durability of the header tank can be improved without increasing the mass (weight) and production cost of the radiator.

    • In a double heat exchanger having a condenser core and a radiator core, a protrusion is provided on a condenser header tank which contacts a radiator header tank so that a clearance between the condenser header tank and the radiator header tank around the protrusion is in a range of 0.5 mm-1.5 mm. Further, a coating-removing restriction material such as magnesium for restricting the removal of an oxidation coating formed on the surface of a brazing material is added to one of the contact areas of the protrusion and the contact area of the condenser header tank. Thus, it can prevent brazing material from being collected in the contact areas of the protrusion and the condenser header tank by a capillary phenomenon during brazing. Accordingly, the heat-transmitting area between the radiator header tank and the condenser header tank is not increased, and the heat-radiating capacity of the condenser core is increased.

    • There is disclosed a heat exchanger made of an aluminum alloy having a radiator part (10) and an oil cooler part (11) in combination and manufactured integrally by the brazing method, wherein a refrigerant tank (13) for covering and sealing the oil cooler part is made of an aluminum alloy, an aluminum alloy containing Si in an amount from more than 7.0 wt % to 12.0 wt %, Fe in an amount from more than 0.05 wt % to 0.5 wt %, Cu in an amount from more than 0.4 wt % to 8.0 wt %, Zn in an amount from more than 0.5 wt % to 10.0 wt %, and the balance of aluminum and inevitable impurities is used as a filler material of brazing sheets that are used for the oil cooler part and are brazed in the tank, and the refrigerant tank is assembled integrally with the radiator part and the oil cooler part by brazing with the brazing material. The heat exchanger made of an aluminum alloy by using an aluminum material instead of a resin tank, can be easily recycled, is excellent in corrosion resistance, and can be manufactured without requiring a step of caulking a tank.

    • A corrugated fin for a double heat exchanger having a condenser and a radiator integrally includes a condenser fin and a radiator fin. Each of the condenser fin and the radiator fin has plural bent portions and plural flat portions each of which connects adjacent bent portions. A louver-forming processing amount of the flat portion of the condenser fin is set smaller than that of the flat portion of the radiator fin. Plural dimple-shaped plastically deformed portions are formed in the flat portion of the condenser fin, so that a whole processing amount of the condenser fin becomes substantially equal to that of the radiator fin. As a result, a radius of curvature of each bent portion of the condenser fin is substantially equal to that of the radiator fin, and the integrated fin is restricted from being deformed.

    • A fan apparatus for preventing the occurrence of a burble on a surface of a blade while the resistance to air flow into the fan is increased and the generated noise is kept small. Each fan of the blade has a first area which extends from the bottom portion of the blade to the intermediate portion and a second area from the intermediate portion of the blade to the top portion of the blade. The setting angle of the blade is a first, predetermined angle at the first area of the blade but is increased at the second area of the blade. Further, the chord length of the blade gradually increases from the bottom to the top of the blade. Additionally, a first wing axis of the blade in the first area is not parallel to a second wing axis of the blade at the second area but, rather, the second wing axis is inclined towards the rotational direction of the fan apparatus. Finally, the profile of the blade of the invention is formed so that the profile at the first area is perpendicular to the first wing axis and the profile at the second area is perpendicular to the second wing axis. With such a structure, a pressure distribution along the wing chord is substantially the same at the first area and the pressure distribution along the wing chord at the second area is gradually increased so that the shape of the pressure distribution is similar to that of the first area.

    • Two heat exchangers, such as a condenser for cooling refrigerant circulating in an air-conditioner and a radiator for cooling coolant in an internal combustion engine, are combined into a single unit. Both heat exchangers are overlapped in an airflow direction of cooling air. Each heat exchanger has a similar structure composed of a core having plural tubes and fins and a pair of header tanks connected to both ends of the tubes. Two heat exchanges are combined by a side plate disposed on the upper side thereof. The openings of both header tanks are closed with separately formed tank caps and are connected to the side plate through the tank caps. Direct heat transfer from one header tank to the other header tank, e.g., from the radiator tank to the condenser tank, is prevented because both header tanks are connected to the side plate through separate tank caps, thus achieving a high heat radiation capacity in the compound heat exchanger.
