    • A cylindrical roller apparatus for a glass tempering oven comprises a ceramic roller having a first end portion and a second end portion, a flat formed on each end portion of the roller, an end cap having a cylindrical wall mounted on each end portion of the roller, a metal retaining plate positioned on each flat, and a screw threaded through each end cap wall that screws into contact with the retaining plate for securing each end cap to the roller and for pushing the roller flush against the inner surface of the end cap wall. An acess hole can be provided in the end cap for welding together the screw, retaining plate, and end cap. Grooves can also be formed on the inner surface of the end cap, accessible through an opening formed through the end cap, to allow injection of adhesive between the roller and end cap to further secure the two together.

    • A receiver for pseudorandom noise (PRN) encoded signals consisting of a sampling circuit, multiple carrier and code synchronizing circuits, and multiple digital autocorrelators. The sampling circuit provides digital samples of a received composite signal to each of the several receiver channel circuits. The synchronizing circuits are preferably non-coherent, in the sense that they track any phase shifts in the received signal and adjust the frequency and phase of a locally generated carrier reference signal accordingly, even in the presence of Doppler or ionospheric distortion. The antocorrelators in each channel form a delay lock loop (DLL) which correlates the digital samples of the composite signal with locally generated PRN code values to produce a plurality of (early, late), or (punctual, early-minus-late) correlation signals. The time delay spacing between the (early, late), and (punctual, early-minus-late) correlation signals are dynamically adjusted, such that in an initial acquisition mode, the delay spacing is relatively wide, on the order of approximately one PRN code chip time; once PRN code lock is achieved, the code delay spacing is narrowed to a fraction of a PRN code chip time.

    • A stress transfer garment for an individual in a low gravity environment to minimize bone deconditioning and the migration of fluids to the torso. The garment includes members made of elastic or resilient material which cover the torso and multiple limbs. The members extend down the long axis of the body, with each member interlaced with the member on each side at least once to form a mesh-like structure. The garment is fitted for an individual in a first position, preferably the fetal position. Any movement by a part of the body covered by the members from the fetal position, stretches those members. The stretched members deliver a physical strain along the long axis of the body to the underlying bone structure. The garment may also be designed to deliver a physical strain across the short axis of the body which is greater across the torso than the limbs and is sufficient to prevent body fluids from the limbs from migrating to the torso. The garment may be formed as a one-piece or two-piece garment.

    • An aromatic oil having an aniline point less than 120.degree. F., a mutagenicity index based on The Modified Ames Test of less than 2.0, a benzene, naphthalene and methyl substituted benzenes and naphthalenes individual component concentrations less than 100 wppm, and a clay gel aromatics fraction content of at least 50 weight % based on aromatic oil, said aromatics fraction characterized in that it has a naphthene-benzenes and dinaphthenebenzenes content of at least 50 volume % based on aromatics fraction. The invention also relates to a process for preparing the aromatic oil which comprises the steps of selective solvent extraction, selective distillation and two-stage hydrotreating with removal of hydrogen sulfide and/or ammonia. The aromatic oils are useful in agricultural formulations due to their low environmental impacts.
