    • A head restraint for a vehicle seat is provided. The head restraint includes a head restraint subsection and a driving device. The head restraint subsection is movable from a use position to a safety position, while the driving device is configured to move the head restraint subsection from the use position to the safety position. The driving device includes at least two components which are movable with respect to each other under the action of a first force. At least one component has an oblique surface which acts on the other component and is inclined in relation to a direction of the first force. Movement of the at least one component under the action of the first force transmits a second force on the other component in a direction different than the first force.

    • A backrest (3), in particular for a motor-vehicle seat (1), has a headrest (4), of which at least one part can be displaced from at least one use position towards the head of the occupant into a safety position. Here, an actuating device (11) is provided which is arranged in the backrest and is operatively connected to a drive device (8) by means of a mechanical transmission means (9) for the displacement of at least one part of the headrest. According to the invention, the transmission means (9) has a first segment (12) which is assigned to the actuating device (11) and a second segment (12′) which is assigned to the drive device (8), which segments can be operatively connected to one another by means of a coupling device (13).     • The backrest of a vehicle seat having a headrest, which may be displaced from an in-use position to a safety position by the effect of a force generation device, and which is fixed, by means of retaining elements extending into the backrest. The retaining elements may be displaced relative to the backrest, under the effect of the force generating device, by means of at least one connector guide, from a connector into a connector side block. The connector slide block is preferably lockable in the connector on the displacement from the in-use position to the safety position. One embodiment includes a rectangular connector slide block which performs a turning movement on the displacement, as a result of which the radial extent of the above relative to the connector is increased thus locking the connector slide block in the connector with a positive or non-positive fit.
