    • A blast energy mitigation structure may employ a V-shaped hull to decrease the pressure wave imparted to a vehicle during a blast event, and/or an energy absorbing structure to absorb a portion of the blast force, thereby minimizing the forces and accelerations experienced by passengers in the vehicle and consequently reducing their injuries and increasing their survivability during a blast event. An exemplary blast energy mitigation structure may have a V-shaped hull and an energy absorbing structure incorporated into the chassis of a vehicle such as a Tactical Wheeled Vehicle, the energy absorbing structure comprising a truss-like structure including I-beams.

    • System and method to partition the interior of a vehicle's main crew compartment with retractable or removable walls to form a containment or isolation area at a door or hatch and to form a cab toxic free area elsewhere inside the vehicle's main crew compartment. The containment area is physically cordoned and substantially sealed off from the rest of the vehicle's main crew compartment. Independent HVAC systems controlling the pressure environment of the main crew compartment and the containment area assures that the main crew compartment is maintained at a pressure greater than the containment area as well as the outside environment, thereby isolating the main crew compartment from possible contaminated environments. The containment area's independent HVAC system is equipped with a decontamination/sterilization/filtration system to allow the purification of the air prior to removal or retraction of the removable or retractable partition.

    • A bidirectional article pusher for a conveying system, which includes a multiplicity of spaced rollers for moving articles along a longitudinal path. There is a push up stop arranged below the conveyor and movable between adjacent rollers to a position above the rollers to stop forward movement of an article which is on the rollers. There are lateral stations, one on each side of a section of the conveying system, and lateral diverters move articles which are on the rollers and stopped by the push up stop, to a position off of the rollers and out of the longitudinal path and at a right angle to the longitudinal path. A stop activator is controlled based upon information, such as that on a bar code sort label on an article and which has been previously provided to the control device upstream of the push up stop. There are three jam detection/correction devices provided to assure proper operation. One is a proximity sensor to detect the presence of the pusher fingers while in their home position. The other is a current overload sensor circuit which detects jams. The third is a number of software timers embedded in the control software for controlling the diverter arrangement. There is also an acceleration profiler which obtains weight information and uses it to control acceleration/deceleration of the articles being moved.

    • A profiler system is preferably mounted to a conventional roller conveyor frame rail used primarily in mail handling applications. The profiler system contains an array of photo sensors strategically placed to sense the height and length of a mail tray. The sensors are operably connected to a controller that is capable of filtering false signals and accommodating varying conveyor speeds. The controller classifies the object as one of the several types of mail trays or as an unknown object based upon blocked photo sensors. The tray type is reported to a higher-level control system via an industry standard controller communication bus for further processing downstream.

    • A device and method for stacking product into a container in a vertical orientation. The device includes at least one pivoting mechanism pivotable between a loading position and an initial/final position. The at least one pivoting mechanism retains a container thereon. The device may further include at least one corresponding diverting mechanism for injecting product into the container. The diverting mechanism includes a feeding area and a diverting arm swingable between an open position and a closed position. In the open position, the diverting arm allows product to enter the feeding area. An ejection station is positioned proximate to the feeding area and injects the product into the container after the product enters the feeding area via movement of the diverting arm. In one aspect the ejection station is provided by a pinch belt arrangement and is controlled by a control.

    • A tactical vehicle has a driver position and a command position, and possibly other positions such as a gunner position. The dashboard provides a plurality of displays and warning lights viewable from the driver position to provide information for the driver of a vehicle and arranged to be monitored from the command position. There are also a plurality of displays and communications devices viewable from the command position to provide information for the commander sitting in the passenger seat of such vehicle. There is a vehicle management display, climate control panel and vehicle intercom devices accessible for use from the driver position and also from the command position. At least one of the displays is constructed and arranged to be video matrixed so that the information is viewable from both the driver position and the command position, and also from a gunner position if one is provided.
