    • This invention provides one variable leverage V type bicycle brake which includes two swinging arms, two friction bodies, one cable connection part, one brake cable and one adjusting device. One end of each of the two swinging arms is set on the bicycle frame and the other ends of the two arms is set with one swinging arm connection part respectively. Each one of the friction bodies is set at the central section of each swinging arm and one end of the cable connection part is connected to one of the swinging arm connections. One end of the brake cable penetrates the other end of the connection part by connecting to another swinging arm connection, the other end of the brake cable is connected to one brake lever set on the bicycle handlebar, and the adjusting device is set on each swinging arm, so as to vary the direction and position of the swinging arm connection part on the long shaft of the swinging arm to provide a variable leverage with the V type bicycle brake.

    • An array of bistable devices includes a thin cadmium sulfide platelet having a first portion thereof that is substantially pure and the remaining portion thereof is implanted with atoms that can bind excitons. Such remaining portion can be implanted with ions from a lithium source. Apparatus for providing such an array can include a source of lithium ions and masking means for selectively permitting and for selectively inhibiting passage of ions from the source to pass therethrough and to implant in a pattern onto the platelet. The apparatus operates at temperatures in the neighborhood of liquid helium. A method for producing such an array includes providing a thin, substantially pure, platelet of cadmium sulfide, selectively masking the platelet with a pattern to selectively permit and to selectively inhibit passage of ions onto the platelet, and providing a source of ions. The source of ions, in accordance with certain features, can be lithium ions.

    • An electrophoretic display device comprises a cell in which a colloidal suspension of pigment particles is contained between associated electrodes and means are provided for the establishment of a potential between the electrodes for the selective transport of pigment particles. This potential permits changing the spatial distribution of pigment particles in specifically defined regions of the display cell. The device also comprises a light transmissive plate associated with the cell, whereby illumination received in the plate is internally reflected, with light coupling between the illumination and selected regions of the cell at which such particles are suitably disposed. The coupled illumination is transmitted by the cell to the observer. The cell regions at which the particles are disposed are switchably selectable.

    • Adjustable disc brake bracket especially applicable to rally bicycle. The disc brake bracket includes an upper bracket, a lower bracket, an adjustment section, an insertion section, a retaining seat and a stop section. The adjustment section is positioned between the upper and lower brackets for adjusting the angle contained thereby. The insertion section is a notch formed on lower end of the lower bracket and fitted on the end of the wheel shaft. The retaining seat is mounted on the upper bracket for fixedly connecting with the disc brake apparatus of the bicycle. The resulting structure of the racquet serves to centralize the sweet spot of the racquet at the geometric center of the circular head portion.

    • A disk-braking device comprises a disk-braking piece, a brake, and a pair of friction pads installed in the brake and having a predetermined area. The two friction pads can clamp or release the disk-braking piece for rubbing the disk-braking piece to reduce the rotary speed or stop the rotation of the disk-braking piece. The disk-braking piece are piece-like bodies. The portion of the disk-braking piece passing through the two friction pads is formed with a plurality of openings having a predetermined shape and spaced with a predetermined distance. The arrangement of the openings is periodic. Openings at the same period have different areas. The area of each opening is smaller than that of the two friction pads. As the car brakes, a periodic variation of the friction torque generates to prevent the wheels from sliding. Therefore, a preferred braking effect is presented.
