    • Disclosed is an apparatus for simultaneously trenching and laying a submarine pipeline within the bed of a body of water covered with a relatively thick ice mass. The apparatus comprises a pipeline construction spread which precedes a trenching and pipe installation spread, both of which traverse the ice mass. The pipe installation vehicle advances toward the constructed pipeline, elevates the pipeline, forms a slot-like opening in the ice and directs the pipeline into the water through the slot. A submersible dredging assembly extends from a installation vehicle which forms part of the installation spread. As the vehicle advances, the dredging assembly forms a trench in the sea bed. At the same time the dredging assembly guides the pipeline into the trench and provides support to a submerged component of the pipeline which is threaded through a slot in the dredging assembly.

    • An interior wall system formed from two opposing walls. Each opposing wall is assembled from a plurality of composite wall panels, each wall panel having an exterior surface material and an interior layer of insulating material bonded to one side of the exterior surface material. Each opposing wall is anchored to top and bottom U-shaped support members and adjoining wall panels of each wall are connected by a plurality of retaining clips. The retaining clips may be adjusted in length to accommodate various widths between the opposing walls. Additionally, splines are inserted between the first and second walls along the seams between adjoining wall panels. The wall system also includes a door frame comprising first and second jamb members and a lintel member, each having a spacing member attached to approximately the center thereof. The spacing members are inserted between the opposing walls and are used to anchor the door frame in place.

    • A pipeline of an indeterminate length, having a substantially constant inner diameter throughout its length, is formed by frictionally joining together a plurality of adjacent pipe segments. The ends of each pair of adjacent pipe segments are frictionally joined within an external, cylindrical sleeve member. The sleeve member has a substantially smooth inner bore and a substantially constant inner diameter, and is adapted to receive the adjacent pipe ends which abut within the sleeve.The joint of the disclosed pipeline is so designed that its strength can develop at least the yield stress of the material from which the pipeline is constructed.

    • A process is disclosed for making a decorative, essentially planar sheet of material having a design applied to one side, with the design being viewed through the sheet from the opposite side. A foreground component of the design is produced on a first resilient roller, and the first roller is rotated about its cylindrical axis. A second resilient roller rotates adjacent to the first resilient roller to form a nip with the first cylindrical roller. The planar sheet is fed through the nip formed between the first and second resilient rollers so that the foreground component of the design on the first resilient roller is transferred to the opposite side of the planar sheet. A background component of the design is produced on a third resilient roller, and the third roller is rotated about its cylindrical axis. A fourth resilient roller rotates adjacent to the third roller to form a nip with the third roller. The planar sheet to which the foreground component of the design has been previously applied is fed through the nip formed between the third and fourth resilient rollers so that the background component of the design on the third resilient roller is transferred to the opposite side of the planar sheet superposed over the foreground component that was applied previously.
