    • A pneumatically or electromotively operable disc brake, including a brake caliper that straddles a brake disc, at least one brake application device for tensioning the brake disc by way of a displaceably guided element, particularly a cross member. The displaceably guided element has at least one threaded borehole into which an adjusting spindle is screwed. This adjusting spindle supports a pressing piece by which a brake pad can be pressed against the brake disc. A wear adjusting device is provided for resetting the clearance and is actively connected to the adjusting spindle. A securing element acts upon the adjusting spindle, thus preventing turning up to a specified torque. The securing element is provided in the form of a spring clip with at least one or more spring saddles, which are distributed over the periphery and which rest in a frictional contact against the adjusting spindle outside the internal thread of the displaceably guided element.

    • A decanting apparatus wherein a carrier in the form of a cradle or balance beam is tiltable, swingable or rockable in response to flow of red wine or another flowable substance from a first vessel (e.g., a bottle of wine) on one arm of the carrier into a second vessel (e.g., a carafe) on the other arm of the carrier. Each arm of the carrier has one or more braces which support the respective vessel, and the mouth of the first vessel registers with (e.g., extends into) the mouth of the second vessel. The final position of inclination of the carrier is selected in such a way that sediment (if any) remains in the residue of flowable material in the first vessel. The apparatus can be operated by unskilled persons and can complete the decanting operation within a short interval of time.

    • An electrical system preferably constructed as gas-insulated, metal-encapsulated switching system containing at least one electrical switch located in a darkened internal space is monitored by a device for detecting interfering arcs. In this arrangement, the light pulses emanating from the interfering arcs in the internal space are optically detected, conducted out and converted into electrical signals which are processed in an evaluating device. The monitoring device should be distinguished by a short response time. This is achieved by applying electrical signals, which are attributable both to interfering arcs and to regular switching arcs, to the evaluating device and by the fact that the evaluating device also contains a circuit arrangement which detects the variation with time of the electrical signals. In this circuit arangement, the electrical signals attributable to interfering arcs are distinguished from signals attributable to regular switching arcs.

    • In connection with a unit for parallelizing a chain of overlapping printed products such as signatures (that is to say causing the leading edges to be parallel), delivered by way of a fan wheel onto a delivery belt thereunder, the purpose of the invention is to make for trouble-free operation, to see that the signatures are completely regularly placed, and to make upkeep work on the unit simple. For this purpose, the unit has at least one driver which is moved along at a higher speed than the signatures so as to come up against the trailing edge of each signature as its leading edge comes onto the delivery belt. The driver is moved along a line of motion in such a way that at least part of such motion is directed out of the transport plane of the delivery belt. The driver may be a simple kicking edge of a part fixed to a driver support.
