    • A device is disclosed for receiving fluid components from a proportioning device and delivering the components to a mixing tube for chemical reaction of the components. The device comprises a housing having two inlet chambers and an outlet chamber. One of the fluids is connected to the first inlet chamber while the other fluid is connected to the second inlet chamber and both inlet chambers are fluidly connected to the outlet chamber by separate fluid passageways. A valve assembly is operable to simultaneously open both fluid passageways so that the fluids from the inlet chambers flow into the outlet chamber and then out from the device housing to the mixing tube. The device housing comprises two housing parts which are detachably secured together and, when separated, provide open access to the valve members and outlet chamber for cleaning and to enable a ratio check to be performed at a point in the system close to the mixing tube.

    • Power dispensing apparatus for dispensing measured increments of colorants, lubricants, stabilizers, etc., into casting, paint, and synthetic resin, etc., industrial processes having a block with a displacement chamber and bi-directionally air powered valves controlling inlet-supply and outlet-use ports in conjunction with a displacement rod reciprocating in the chamber. A case is connected to the block and has a reciprocating piston attached to the rod. Air pressure is fed to the case to reciprocate the rod in one direction and from the case to opposite positions on the air powered valves to cause one to open and the other to close to effect dispensing an increment of material to use. Air pressure fed to the case to move the piston and rod in the other direction is also fed to the air powered valves to close the one and open the other to draw in material from supply. An adjusting screw limiting the stroke of the piston renders the apparatus variably adjustable as to the quantity dispensed. In this way the valves are air powered in both directions and coordinated with the stroke of the displacement rod. Larger channel supply air pressure to the valves at a faster rate than is supplied by the small orifices to the cylinder and piston reciprocating the rod to insure that the valves are properly positioned before the rod moves to draw-in or expel material.

    • An adjustable flow applicator includes a body having an axial flow pasasge and an inlet passage adapted for connection to a source of pressurized fluidic material dispensed by a positive displacement constant flow rate dispenser. A nozzle is connected to the body and communicates with the flow passage and has an orifice. A reciprocal piston rod extension is spaced within the flow passage and terminates in a tapered valve member having an advanced position seated within the orifice to shut off flow of fluidic material and first and second retracted positions variably opening the orifice for reduced flow in a first position and higher flow in a second position. First remote control includes a first piston connected to the piston extension for effecting alternate reciprocal movements of the valve member for alternately opening and closing the orifice. A second pneumatic control includes a piston rod coaxially adjacent to the first piston and includes a reciprocal second piston which has an advanced position for limiting axial retracting movements of the valve member for limited flow of material and an alternate retracted position away from the first piston so the first piston can move to a fully retracted position.

    • A fluid metering apparatus having paired cylinders, pistons and piston rods. The piston rods are connected to a lever or walking beam which, when pivoted at its center equidistant between the rod connections provides controlled equal travel distance and rate for the pistons providing equal cubic displacement in the cylinders. When the beam is pivoted off-center closer to one rod connection than to the other, the piston on the closer rod travels a shorter distance at a slower rate than the other piston providing unequal cubic displacement in the cylinders. In either case the quantities are measured proportionally to one another in the same period of time. The system is controlled by air cylinders and valves actuated by the reference piston rod. Telltale indicators are carried by the air cylinders to visually show any malfunction at each air cylinder individually. Automatic system operation is provided for continuous metering. Automatic system shut-down closes all valves at the material inlets and outlets sealing the resin, hardener, etc. in stable condition for resumption of metering.
