    • The invention relates to an arrangement for supplying a liquid to a teat-cleaning cup. The arrangement includes a cup-shaped body (1), a liquid medium source (3), at least one liquid medium passage (5, 5′) having an extension from the first medium source (3) to at least one opening to the cup-shaped body (1), and at least one feeding member.     • In a pneumatically driven liquid supply apparatus comprising a circulation pump 26 or constant-volume pump 34 for supplying a washing liquid or chemical to a washing tank 20 for semiconductor wafers used during the fabrication of semiconductor devices; an electromagnetic switching valve 51 and a pressure regulator 52 that configure an air-pressure adjustment means 50 are connected to an air source 60; and air supply pipelines 41a, 41b, 41d, and 41e are each connected to the air-pressure adjustment means 50, the circulation pump 26 and the constant-volume pump 34. A leakage sensor 70 is interposed within each of the air supply pipelines 41a, 41b, 41d, and 41e between the air-pressure adjustment means 50 and the circulation pump 26 or constant-volume pump 34, so that any liquid that flows backward through the circulation pump 26 or the constant-volume pump 34 and into the air supply pipeline 41a, 41b, 41d, or 41e is detected by the leakage sensor 70. This makes it possible to prevent damage or halting of the functions of the air-pressure adjustment means due to liquid flowing into the air supply pipelines via one of the pumps.

    • A barrier fluid seal assembly is provided for a reciprocating rod, where the reciprocation of the rod is used to pump barrier fluid through a barrier fluid chamber. The rod has first and second seals, and the barrier fluid chamber is located between the seals. Barrier fluid pressure is maintained higher than process fluid pressure so that if there is leakage past the seals, then it is barrier fluid that leaks, which keeps the seals clean and flushed. A reciprocating pump may incorporate the barrier fluid seal assembly for sealing around a plunger. A method of operating first and second reciprocating pumping cylinders provides bumpless transfer of pumping from one pumping cylinder to the other pumping cylinder. Motion controls, such as a controller using a position transducer for a hydraulic piston and a servo-valve for providing hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic piston, are used to compress liquid process fluid in one pumping cylinder prior to beginning its pumping stroke. A total plunger speed is determined for plungers in pumping cylinders A and B, and total plunger speed is held essentially constant prior to hand-off of pumping from one pumping cylinder to another pumping cylinder. The speed of one plunger is increased before it enters its pumping stroke while the speed of the other plunger is decreased an equal amount as it reaches the end of its pumping stroke.

    • A fluid power system comprising a steam generator connected to a hydraulic pumping device for delivering steam under pressure to the device for driving the same, while steam is returned to the steam generator via a condenser. The hydraulic pumping device is connected by means of suitable conduits to a plurality of hydraulic motors for driving the same and the conduits include valving means for controlling the direction of fluid between the hydraulic pumping device and the hydraulic motors and returning fluid to a reservoir from which fluid is initially drawn by the hydraulic pumping device. The hydraulic motors provide a rotary output for driving the wheels of a vehicle on which the fluid power system is used. The system further comprises valve means for controlling the pressure at which the system operates. A single directional hydraulic motor is connected to the output of the hydraulic pumping device through a variable flow control valve and a pressure regulating valve and functions to provide power for operating generators, power brakes, steering, air-conditioning and other systems which are utilized in conjunction with the fluid power system.
