    • A blood treatment apparatus includes: a blood treatment unit, a pair of fluid pumps and a pair of blood pumps. The blood treatment unit is configured to receive untreated blood and fresh blood treatment fluid, and emit treated blood and used blood treatment fluid. The fluid pumps are configured to pass blood treatment fluid through the blood treatment unit. The blood pumps are configured to extract untreated blood from a blood source, pass extracted blood through the blood treatment unit and deliver treated blood to a target vessel. Flow measurement device which determines at least one blood flow parameter reflecting an average flow in relation to the blood treatment unit during a well-defined period of operation of the apparatus, for example while completing one operation cycle. The at least one blood flow parameter is determined based on a difference between (i) a first amount of fresh blood treatment fluid received into the blood treatment unit, and (ii) a second amount of used blood treatment fluid emitted from the blood treatment unit during another well-defined period.

    • A tool coupling includes first and second bodies held together by a clamping mechanism. The first body includes a first surface having a first serration formed therein, a first hole extending through the first surface, and a side surface having a second hole extending therethrough and intersecting the first hole. The second body includes a second surface facing the first surface and including a second serration configured to mesh with the first serration. A drawbar projects from the second surface and extends into the first hole. The drawbar includes a plurality of wedge surfaces. The clamping mechanism includes a screw disposed in the second hole and nuts threadedly mounted thereon for movement toward and away from the drawbar. Each nut includes a plurality of wedge surfaces arranged to engage the wedge surfaces of the drawbar to pull the second body toward the first body in a manner bringing the first and second serrations into meshing engagement with one another.

    • A metal cutting tool includes a holder arrangement, an indexible cutting insert seated on an insert-receiving site of the holder arrangement, and a screw for fastening the insert to the site. The bottom side of the insert includes more than two upright abutment surfaces arranged to abut respective upright support surfaces of the site, whereby the areas of contact formed by the mutually abutting surfaces lie inside of an outer perimeter of the insert. The abutment surfaces are oriented non-parallel to one another. The screw is arranged to urge the insert in a direction whereby less than all of the abutment surfaces abut respective support surfaces, and at least one abutment surface does not abut a support surface. When the insert is indexed, the non-abutting abutment surface is relocated and caused to abut a support surface when the screw is tightened, while an abutment surface that previously abutted a support surface becomes a non-abutting surface.
